How many of them will be able to play that long though? Is playing to the end of your 30's going to be the new normal, or the outlier? What will salary increases look like when the CBA runs out in 2020 and has to be renegotiated around the fact that current TV contracts are unsustainable? Recent history has not been kind to the NFLPA.

Luck should have been able to beat it but he's going to be a broken shell by 30.

Yeah, the key thing to remember about Stafford is that until relatively recently, Megatron was literally the only real offensive weapon on the team. "Chuck it to Calvin" can only work so often, and it's what killed the Lions especially in 2012.

Shangri-Law School posted:Every quarterback is bad under pressure, except stupid Rodgers. Even then, Rodgers is somewhere between Tyrod Taylor and Eli Manning under pressure by DVOA. If a QB's actually being pressured by a rusher, he's either getting sacked, throwing it away, running for his life or tossing up a prayer. Everyone sucks at it, sucking less bad is nice, but I think run like hell or drop to the ground just makes sense.

I really thought the Broncos were going to lose, but lo and behold they turn in one of their best defensive performances of the season and it was the one game in 2015 where Peyton looked like his old self (wounded ducks notwithstanding).

Amy Pole Her posted:Tannehill was sacked 50+ times his first three years Sack chat made me look up the king. David Carr took 76 sacks his first season, 49 his third, and 68 his fourth. The weird thing is he only took 15 in his second year. Sure he got hurt and only started 11 games and played in 12, looking it up you can call it about 9 full games starting. But that's by far on pace for the lowest times sacked season he ever played in Houston, and it's the only year he ever missed a start. Football is a weird thing sometimes. e: QB Eagles deserves mention too. 72, 54, 57, 45, 49, 2 (got hurt in the first game of the season), 60, 7 (hurt again), 43 from 1986 to '94.
