For the record, notpron and notporn were two different puzzle sites (notporn came first, though notpron is somewhat better known). Notporn was rehosted on https://www.thisisnotapuzzle.com . I honestly can't remember which one had the true/false puzzle you describe, but both are pretty memorable otherwise so you should be able to figure out which one it is from the other pages.

I'm cross posting this from my thread that was going to replace this but this one got revived: Does anyone alive remember that one MMO that was being developed that was like second life but with beautiful graphics and every window was someones ingame room? It was based in a city and it's suburbs and allowed people to do awesome poo poo like stream pictures from your My Pictures folder onto picture frames, and also browse windows from computers or watch Youtube on flat screens, and all of those were interchangeable, like Youtube on a picture frame. There was a video for it showing off the game and the developer guy really liked to hype that it could be played on any system, even phones since it was developed "in the cloud". If anyone could help me find ANYTHING on this elusive little fucker i will love you forever, IIRC the name of it was Cityscape. This game has haunted me for years now, and i am one of the very few who remember the video for it.

Here's a long shot. I'm looking for a site where this guy talks about working for Electronics Boutique or Babbages or something up to his early or mid-twenties when he finally decided he wanted more out of life and went off to become a programmer. It's a pretty lengthy account of the stagnant half-reality that is working mall retail and ultimately somewhat uplifting. I wanted to reread it when I was going through a low point last year, but goddamn it I couldn't find it. Still can't. First read it in 2007.

I'm looking for a little Japanese site that had a bunch of flash games on it. There were at least four that were called something like 'animal maze' - the one I remember best had a little orange monkey you had to get from one side of a river to another, using rotating pieces of pathway to get him there. Another game on the site was a version of Amida using ladybugs, and yet another had a little old lady throwing skewers to stick dangos; the more dango pieces, the more points. A final game was a little FPS where you played an ugly fat girl who hated all cute couples and you had to incinerate all the couples that appeared on a street with a laser. I know it was Japanese because I could read enough to decipher the Amida game, but I don't remember anything about the URL or anything else. Thanks in advance!

Back in the late 90s, there was this group I heard on a late-night radio station that played exclusively gothic, doom metal, industrial and other wonderful stuff. If anyone is from the Montreal area they'll know what CKUT was like back then. Well, one night I heard a group doing some weird and amazing stuff by mixing Bach Cantatas with death and doom metal. Don't remember the name of the group or the song, but the album had the word "Herbst" in it (they were German or Austrian or something like that) and this means "Spring". Anyone know what the hell I'm talking about and where I can find this stuff again?

Herbst by Darkside Hünengrab im Herbst by Nagelfar They were released in 1993 and 1997 respectly, and they are both Doom/Death/Black metal albums... But, I haven't heard them, or if these are the correct albums you are looking for...

I posted in the PYF thread but I'll put it here too, and just update the other post after getting an answer. I'm trying to find a video of a white rapper, I think he's Irish, and he's wearing a baseball cap, rapping in this squeaky high-pitched voice (like normal but sped up). At one point he's outdoors on a teeter-totter or something, drinking from a bottle. It was in a thread about Irish or white rappers, but I couldn't find the thread via Google.

I want to find an article from SA's front page that was about some kind of parody of the Justice League, with emails from some of its members to the leader (which was a partody of Wonder Woman, I think). Nebelwerfer posted:http://metal-archives.com/release.php?id=2496 Sure it's not that either, but thanks for showing me more great music! The thing about this lineup was that it was way more refined than the black metal at the time. I mean, they actually sang in addition to growling. There was a whole choir and orchestra with them as well. One of the reasons I found and got into Therion a couple of years later was because of madly trying to hunt down whoever these guys were. A few more vague memories that have returned to me about this song I'm looking for: 1) I'm sure "Herbst" was actually "Herbstlaub", which means Autumn Leaves. I just checked out some long dead Danish band by the same name, but it's not them. 2) The main theme of the song that hooked me the most was a metalized version of "Von Gott will ich nicht Lassen", by Bach. Complete with growls, choir, orchestra, screaming guitars and drums. Check out the original of the tune I'm talking about : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibclMvLF74Y I'm hoping it will ring some bells! 3) I'm sure part of the song also used the lyrics: "Skeleton, oh Skeleton!" This third point could be completely off base, but for some reason it stuck in my mind. It's probably something I heard completely wrong. You guys are definitely on the right track, though! I feel like a 13 year old mystery is about to be solved!

Long ago on these forums, there was a fan fiction thread. The theme for the thread is that there is some terrible fanfiction for nearly everything, but if there was something without a fan fiction entry, than the idea was to fill the void. I wrote a story based on Microsoft Office, but someone else wrote this awesome Pa Rappa story. He's unable to perform and so he calls on Chop Chop Master Onion, who then gets him into the groove. I remember it being hilarious, but I never rediscovered it.

I think it was two years ago that someone made a thread showing off a trailer for their student film. It parodied LARPers by showing some "badass" filtered footage of nerds in ninja and viking costumes running through the forest but then it cut to their actual combat, and they were just awkwardly swinging at eachother and freaking out about getting hit. Also, a youtube video of a woman going to her boss and asking for a bonus, and he goes "I don't know about a bonus, but I've got a boner" and as he's unzipping his pants, it cuts to the beginning of CSI Miami intro and "YEEEAAAAAH!" Help me find them. Barack HUSSEIN fucked around with this message at 04:48 on Jun 30, 2010 |

A couple friends and I used to be entertained greatly by a short student film that I can no longer find. In said short, the basic plot is that a man who repeatedly fakes his own death comes in contact with two of his children from different women who have fallen in love, or something of the sort. The daughter is a fencer and a violinist and the son is a famous boxer who believes he is from the future because his 'dead' father would come to him during his childhood while he was drunk. One of the memorable lines from this is the boxer son saying in what is portrayed as a post-fight interview "In the future, man's favorite sport is perpetual motion." I think it might have been hosted on Atomfilms, but back in 2003-2005. I just cannot find this video, and every few months I find myself googling all kinds of related terms in hopes of finding it, but I get nothing.

Back in like 2001-ish, I saw a video making fun of the emo subculture that was sort of new at the time. In it, Emo Guy #1 goes over to Emo Guy #2's house. They are both wearing ridiculous outfits, with shirts actually made for 12-year-old girls and scarves/bandanas. They talk about different bands and going "to the show". The bands all have names like XmyXbleedingXheartXremembersXjuneX and XzombieXdeathXkillXkillX. They go out to the car and Emo Guy #1 says he doesn't like one of the bands. Then Emo Guy #2 says he loves that band. There's sort of awkward tension and eventually #1 says he loves them too. I think this video had a Thursday song in it.
