He wasn't disagreeing with your position, just pointing out a flaw that people would latch onto and that fixing would only improve the point. Anyway, I think I asked DnD this a long time ago, but other than a lot of banging fists on tables and saying "Something must be done!" what actual policies could help reduce shootings in the states? Get the impression a full ban on ALL guns Australia-style would never work with the deep-rooted American gun culture. Are capacity limitations viable? Can you just create A Big List Of The Naughty No No Guns? And now for something stupid: here's the pro Donald Trump section of Reddit's fascinating reactions relating to the shooting:

Criticism of an attack isn't always defense of it's target. For example, "You seem to be extremely proud of lovely charts. Maybe reconsider what things are worth defending?," would be a silly angle. Edit: A more realistic example would be conflation of being anti-death penalty with being pro-murderer. Accretionist fucked around with this message at 20:38 on Oct 3, 2017 |

Can you just create A Big List Of The Naughty No No Guns? I'm Australian and I own guns. They're not really that difficult to get, you just need to have a valid reason, no criminal history and be prepared for it to take a while. The reason listed on my licence is "recreational hunting and vermin control", I had to prove I had permission to shoot somewhere (Dad's farm) and go do a safety course at the rifle range for about an hour. The cops come and check you have a gun safe. If you fit certain categories, you can get certain guns such as pump action shotguns and small capacity semi auto rifles. You can't get assault rifles. Our gun laws are about as restrictive as they need to be, IMHO. (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

Not to be hostile, but if you think there is a total private gun ownership ban in Australia you are profoundly ignorant.

System is working as intended. People are deciding on an individual basis who is worthy of living and who should die. This is literally why Republicans don't want single payer or any other government health care, or social services. They want to judge every person worthy or unworthy of their money.
