It's there to collect up the stuff that wasn't on the albums, and in that regard, it's nice. But as a separate release, only if you're a Bowie fanatic. There's a lot of good stuff here, but there's also a lot that's "Huh, that's nice, but not really necessary." Like most of the mono single versions. I'd be surprised if any past the Prettiest Star weren't just folds. 1. Space Oddity (Mono Single Mix) - Really muddy, and not a really great mix. In fact, even Bowie felt it was a stereo record, and it mono it lost something. You're not going to listen to this except as a novelty. 2. Wild Eyed Boy from Freecloud (Mono Single Version) - A different recording from the album version. If you like the song, it's interesting. 3. Ragazzo Solo, Ragazza Sola - AKA, Space Oddity with Italian lyrics that are not about outerspace. You're only going to listen to this as a novelty. 4. The Prettiest Star (Mono single mix) - One of Bowie's best early songs. Really strong and I like it better than what's on Aladdin Sane, though the rerecording isn't bad. 5. Conversation Piece (Mono single mix) - I really like this song, and it's not on any album. 6 + 7. Memory of a Free Festival Parts 1 + 2 (Stereo single version) - Rerecording from the album. Not that bad. Part 2 probably worked better on a 45, but what are you gonna do. 8. All the Mad Men (Mono Single Edit) - Pretty rare track. As far, it's just a single edit, which I find fascinating, but how likely are you going to listen to it? I don't know. 9. Janine (Mono Single Mix) - A mono version of the album version. Not really interesting, but it is a really good song. 10. Holy Holy (Original Mono Single) - This is super rare, and it's not an amazing song, but it's really good. It's most exciting because it's rare. But still, it's a good song, so I'm not knocking it. 11. Moonage Daydream (Arnold Corns version) - Rare version. Different from Ziggy Stardust, so you might like it better. 12. Hang On To Yourself (Arnold Corns version) - Rare version. Different from Ziggy Stardust. You might like it better. 13. Changes (Mono single version) - Obviously a great song. But as far as I can tell, it's just a loving fold from the stereo version. Utterly pointless, if you have the stereo version. 14. Andy Warhol (Mono single version) - Edited from the album version. Can't tell if it's a different mix or another fold. But once again, aside from missing the weird intro, there's not too much different from this. 15. Starman (original single mix) - The morse code piano part is much louder on this mix. Not super different, but I like it. 16. John, I'm Only Dancing (Original Version) - Version 1 of 2. Pretty good. 17. The Jean Genie (Original single Mix) - A pretty different mix. Not better than the album mix, but nice to have. 18. Drive-In Saturday (German Single Edit) - Lovely song about watching porn. Only going to listen to this version as a novelty, honestly. 19. Round and Round - This is a rarity and is hard to find. So nice find. 20. John, I'm Only Dancing (Sax version) - A lot of people like this one better. It's the same song twice, but you need both versions! 21. Time (US Single Edit) - Single edits can be fascinating to me, but not really something you need to go out of your way to get. It's surprising this found it's way onto an a single in the US. 22. Amsterdam - A non-album B-side. Pretty strange song, but I like it. 23. Holy Holy (Spiders Version) - Lesser version than the original, but if you're going to collect everything Bowie released during this time period, you need it. 24. Velvet Goldmine - I loving love this song, and it's a shame it's a rarity. Look at that list, and decide for yourself.

Several of those things were on disc two the the 30th Anniversary CD of Ziggy Stardust if anyone must own them but can't shell out for the box set. Specifically it was the Arnold Corns stuff, John, I'm Only Dancing, Round and Round, Amsterdamn, Holy Holy Spiders verision, and Velvet Goldmine. There was a bunch of other stuff too but it's been a while since I've listened to that.

I got some glow in the dark Perturbator EPs.   Sexualizer glows in pink, Nocturne city is green and there's something wrong with my Night Driving Avenger because it doesn't actually glow in the dark at all.

I have a 4x 12" record (Shy FX and T-Power - Set it Off) that still manages to skip the main single. Luckily I've got it on a separate 12, but jeez. That's a lot of wax to press without the most known track.

I made a little app to give you an idea of what certain colors and configurations would look like. It can definitely be improved, especially regarding the configurations, but you might have fun clicking Play and then clicking the Random button a bunch. Pass it around to anybody you know that's going to be getting records pressed. It's based on the Pirate's Press colors and most of their configurations. All kinds of people are saying Blackstar is David Bowie's most out there/experimental album and I feel like all the people saying that probably haven't heard much of his music at all. I really enjoy the album but for the most part it's pretty conventional. Especially for David Bowie.

People who Kickstarted them got a mess of dollar bin records and not much else. They're still around and seem to send out overstocks or old stock and have an amusingly pricy members store. Sometimes you'll get one that doesn't suit your tastes, but I have been OK with trying music I wouldn't have otherwise. Some of it has grown on me. Also, their customer service is ridiculously good. Their forums are a tumbler lite circle jerk though. SJWs of all flavours abound. Another downside of their model is that they ship to arrive on the 15th of the month. Also I might as well introduce myself as I'll probably be posting in here more from time to time. I recently inherited a fairly decent stereo setup including a Technics SL-1700. I didn't realize how great vinyl can sound. My first vinyl purchase was a well timed release of a limited edition compilation album from my favourite band:   Since then I've picked up Pretty Hate Machine from NIN, Shrink from The Notwist, Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada from GY!BE, ( ) from Sigur Rós, If I Should Fall from Grace with God from The Pogues, and Feast of Wire from Calexico. There's a vinyl store on my street so I like to check it out when I'm nearby just to see what they have. I plan to just get a favourite album from each of my favourite artists, since I already have a lot of their discographies on CD, but I've already come dangerously close to buying albums that don't fit this criteria. I'm also learning that certain albums can be pretty hard to find, like New Order's Substance or anything from Massive Attack.
