With red alerts being a thing of the past, what's the best way to get Undine marks? I know I can replay New Romulus missions for Romulan marks, the other rep I'm concerned with at the moment.

And about 1/3 of the time I do a random one, it’s the one where you get in the middle of a fight with the Borg, the Voth, and the Undine, so it’s an option on that one, too. Pretty easy to farm right now.

If you go to the Solonae Sphere space BZ there's a popup in the starting area for a bunch of doffjobs that give good cxp and also dump undine marks at you. You can also do the BZ for more marks if you're inclined to actually play the game.

Hey all, just came back to the game from a super long hiatus (2014-ish). I see a new admiralty system and I could use some recommendations on affordable ships/cards I should pick up for that. Also general recommendations on things to be doing other than trying to get a handle on these new rep grinds.

So I hit 61 on my Romulan, and I can choose between the T'varo retrofit, Dehelan Retrofit, and the Mogai Retrofit. All three of those have decent turn rates compared to the god awful Ha'apax I've been using since 40 or 50 or w/e. I've been using the Ha'Apex as as beamboat, but with the ship I'll pick up next I assume it'll be best to make the switch over to dual heavy cannons. I'm in the same boat, trying to make the same decision. It sounds like the best C-store option is one with a good console like the Kor or the Malem.

The cross-faction bundles (the kind with three ships) get you three ships for the price of two. The mega bundles get you nine ships for the price of four. The two-ship bundles (recon destroyer and support cruiser) are two ships for the price of one and one third of a second. However, unless you really want one right now, it's better to wait for a sale. Sales happen fairly regularly if unpredictably, and range from 20-30% off. Any tier 5 or 6 ship is perfectly serviceable for almost all content in this game, so the rule of thumb is fly whatever you think looks best. As long as you adhere to the basic outfitting rules of mine that are in the OP, you'll be fine (or at least doing better than a large chunk of the player base). If you have a few million EC to spend, there's also lockbox ships on the exchange. The D'Kora, Nicor, and Orb Weaver are cheap and very good tier 5 ships for a cruiser, escort, and science vessel respectively as you prefer.

How do I not suck at this? I bought the mogai retrofit tonight, and equipped it per what some goons in chat said, and god drat I feel like a paper bag. Both offensively, and defensively.  For example, I go in on a borg sphere and since I can't destroy it immediately, it drops my shields, and I'm toast before I can even turn around for another pass provided I'm not dead right away.

Yea, go raid whatever fleet bank you have access to. Those banks are literally there for goon charity. You want some level 15 weapons & consoles. There'll be some decent shields/engines/deflectors in there too, if not an Aegis set. If an Aegis set is in there, grab that so you can at least look good while goons are carrying you through TFOs. Beyond that, you want to start getting one of the reputation sets. The Iconian set used to be the hot poo poo, now it's moved over to one of the Competitive sets. Scan the last two pages, I think there was a conversation on it somewhere. Your long-term goals should be getting an Admiralty chain going, to get dil. The Jem'Hadar are good admiralty alts, because they start at 60, so they have access just after you finish the tutorial. You want the dil to buy Phoenix boxes the next time they come around. Get as many Phoenix boxen as you can, and and grab whatever T6 ships you get tokens for. The other big reward from them is the Phoenix upgrades, which you want to save until the next upgrade weekend, so you can turn your Mk12s into Mk15s at a lower price.

Ya I don't know. I got invited to Dental earlier, and they have XII consoles that I can't access. I bought a set of XII weapons on the AH, and it's basically the same. I mean I do a bit more damage, but I have literally ZERO survivability. I lose all of my shields instantly, have almost now way to regenerate them in a reasonable manner. Sure I can kill a single borg sphere if I blow all of my captain offensives, but I come out with like 50% hull, and can't do poo poo for another 2 minutes while stuff comes off of cooldown. I just feel like I do less damage, and I survive a fuckton less than I did when I got home 4 hours ago and I was flying a t4 warbird.

You're bridge officer skills are kind of a mess. Also you're running two copies of aux2bat do you actually have technicians assigned to your active duty officers? If not that power is doing basically jack poo poo and if so then you don't want the double copies of eng team, tac team or cannon rapid fire. Also yeah your guns and consoles are space poor gear but that's an easy fix. What is your @handle? I can promote you to fleet robbing status and probably just mail you some good gear. It also looks like you've got the tier 5 (ie obsolete) version of the mogai so hopefully you didn't spend actual money on that.

I don't remember my exact tag in game as I made it like 9 years ago when I once tried the game but it's something like xotix@zotics. It’s seriously hard to understate just how important gear quality is, especially since ViL raised the level cap and somewhat broke enemy scaling. I’ve been working on a JHDC build since I got back into the game and last night realised I had enough Phoenix upgrades to take all of my poo poo from Mk 14 to 15. That change alone boosted my dps by around 15k.

Here’s a link to the STO keybinding tool, which creates keybind files that you can then load in game. Using this, you can put 90% of your active skills into a simple spacebar macro and fly in circles to win.
