You were right, klafbang. Sometimes it's best to just keep it simple. I don't mind the manual entry of transactions. I'll still post my February budget before February. But I simply request a template to fill out so that BFC will understand it. Maybe I can copy Knyteguy's format, people seemed to understand that and congratulate him heavily every time he posted it until he vanished. Here was KG's August 2019 budget, can I just steal this format so everyone will understand it and I'll stop posting the drat Google docs everyone hates? KG's August 2019 budget:

So much time wasted here. I posted 33 times in this thread today alone. I have some issues. I can't do it anymore, I must stop. Coming back from the probation was a bad decision on my part. I've unshared my google docs and will see myself out. Need to focus more time on work and life and yes, my finances. I'll just have to do it without BFC's help. Perhaps down the road I'll pop back in and say hi just to get a taste of that sweet BFC piss. Goals: 1/1/2021: Get net worth not including home increased from $112k to $140k. Take care of myself and continue improving health. Handle and budget for home repair/maintenance issues. 6/1/2028: At age 50 have $500k in savings and condo mortgage paid off. Same goal from previous thread. It's doable.

It gives him the illusion that he gets it, an excuse to agonize over pennies while burning pounds and we spend more time arguing with him over how they're reconciliations whenever the thread stops snarling periodically. Thank you thread for going along with the Pocket Smith challenge subplot! Who wants to place bets that zaurg looked at the forecast balances on 1/1/2021, 1/1/2028 and 1/1/2030 and realized Pocket Smith confirmed what we were all telling him but he couldn't actually see? My money is on import happened last week because we saw screenshots last week from the Pocket Smith on boarding tutorial. The silence is because a week was wasted on trying to fudge things using the tried and true tactic of category shifting. Since said shifting was occurring in a proper budget software and not a poorly constructed error filled spreadsheet that conveniently omits transactions and carries forward the wrong balances, the failed endeavor indisputably proved in irrefutable visual terms that: - you can't build net worth by spending more than you earn and - not only is it truly possible for zaurg to burn through the liquidated equity from the house sale proceeds in less than 3 years, it is actually highly likely

We could have pooled $3000, bought bitcoin with it, and offered it as the carrot on the end of a stick to zaurg to just import transactions, categorize them, and run autobudget, and he still wouldn't have done it. Denial's a hell of a drug.

There are always new lows for this clown. The ex wife's credit report thing was particularly pathetic but not otherwise noteworthy in the sea of shittyness that is dipshit. In all seriousness, Zaurg, (and you can tell I'm serious because I'm spelling and capitalizing your name correctly), if your alcohol consumption has been generally and gradually on the rise please consider what effects it will have upon you, your romantic relationships, and most importantly with your kids.
