Fiskars owns a bunch of companies/brands. I think they just re-branded Hackman (which they've owned for some years) cookware to Fiskars at some point for whatever dumb reason

But it sucks if you have loads of trees and you need to trim after a windy day or a storm.

That said, I've not seen healthier cuts on the grass, very little trauma. And dead quiet too.

I got a single family home with a pretty small yard in 2005 and bought a battery powered push mower sort of like that but without the little wheels in front. It served me well and I love how quiet it is, but the battery doesn't hold much of a charge after 10 years and amazon recently had a sale on a more normal sized mower that's a plug-in.

Is that only push-powered, no battery? It's definitely a lot easier having the blades spin for you so all you have to do is wheel it around.

Reel mowers own if you keep them maintained, have a fairly level yard, and walk the yard once before you start mowing in order to pick up sticks and other crap it can't handle. Too many people buy one and go "oh cool I'm so green" and take off running at full speed into foot-high grass, then drag it back to the garage for storage when it binds up the first time.

It is, if only for the associated headaches of not keeping the grass healthy- you get openings that can allow weeds to get a foothold, ants and other insects find a no roots spot to build a nest, etc.

I thought I made a mistake too back in 2012, going from a push to start gas mower to this is night and day. You have to clear debris from the yard first. If let the grass get really long, you would have to do a couple of passes at different blade elevations. It's not for everybody, but I like not having to pay for gas or running a cord or worrying about battery charge.
