WantlessPonder posted:Okay, this description will be very vague. But the song is a pretty famous rock song. It's a song that most of you would recognise immediately upon hearing it. From what I can remember, it's also pretty mellow and up-beat and I don't remember there being any electric guitars, so it's (probably) acoustic. Are you thinking of Billy Joel's 'Piano Man'? I figured you might have been thinking of the lyric "we're all in the mood for a melody". http://youtube.com/watch?v=rZ1_M_L_RSI

I vaguely remember this song from the mid to late 90s from a video. I seem to remember the chorus having the lyrics "baby, baby, every time I get next to you" but that could be way wrong. The tune has been stuck in my head for at least 9 years.

Is it "Baby, Baby" by Amy Grant? If it is, I'm really sorry, man.

I heard this at an IHOP and I think it said it was on XM channel 25, if that helps. It's a fairly recent song, probably mid 90s or newer. Female voice, acoustic guitar. All I can remember is after each line of a verse, the singer and background voices sing "woo hoo, woo hoo." Hopefully that will be enough.

Heard this on the radio a little while back, "I don't understand why the kids don't know how to dance to rock and roll" I think that was the line. The song sounded a bit like something the Strokes might do. No luck with google.

This song isn't more than 4 or 5 years old. The music video of it is a blonde haired kid about 10-12 years old just biking through San Francisco. At one point he eats his lunch watching the golden gate bridge. The last shot is him falling asleep in bed. The song itself I don't remember much at all, aside from it being upbeat. If I had to pick a song to compare it to it'd be 'bird of prey' by fatboy slim, but I could be way off. The band made another music video later with the same kid, this time in his room and he's building a space ship or some crap. Help me out goons!!! so what the gently caress

I'm looking for a song that's sung by a woman, it's kind of upbeat, and the only words I remember are these: I try to imagine my life without you ... Don't say goodbye (repeated) I looked around for it but there are about eight million goddamn songs called "Don't Say Goodbye" and searching for the specific phrases doesn't seem to work.

This is a GBS offshoot thread, but I think this is the best place to post this request without making a new thread. A while ago someone posted a link in GBS about a guy who sang porn songs; making his own hilarious music about whatever sex acts he was perfoming in that movie. Me and some friends have started showing off the most ridiculous porn stuff we can find online (hey, it's college), and I just remember this guy's singing after they showed me a song of theirs. Anyone know the guy's name or the website where his songs are located at? I've tried googling around, but all I get is unwanted porn. No good, high-quality, and hilarious music to laugh at. Any help?

Ok heres the details of the song i'm looking for. Theres a section of the chorus where the word "saturday" is repeated like 7 times. Possibly followed by "what a day". A friend of mine believes it was sung by Elton John although i'm vaugely familiar with his works and a google search only turned up a song by him called "Saturdays Alright (for fighting)" which isn't the song i'm looking for. Any suggestions?

The Deadly Hume posted:A Rollerskating Jam Named "Saturdays" by De La Soul? It's from 1991. The female vocal kicks in around 1:37. Most assuredly not it, unless me and this fella are thinking of two different songs. I definitely know this track. The "Saturday" song in question sounds more like Olivia Newton John, it's like early 80's soundtrack music or aerobics stuff or something, and it definitely includes "Saturday, what a day!" at the end of the chorus. It's one of those songs like "Celebrate Good Times" that you always hear in the background of corporate training videos and poo poo.

If anyone knows this song bless them, because I have been looking for it for awhile. I saw the music video on MTV back in the late 90's. The main lyric I know is 'forty-five' and is repeated a lot. I believe the main singer is Arabic because of a strange accent when singing. The music video is a bunch of dudes playing instruments in a room with the number 45 everywhere and of course record players playing 45s. The reason I ask for it now is that it is playing in the background of the new "The Love Guru" movie trailer. It is hard to pick out but it is there. If anyone could figure this song out, it would be great.

The chorus is "Brimful of Asha of the 45" over and over again -- Fatboy Slim remixed it and the video is pretty similar to what you're describing, although SLIGHTLY different. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XniTypXFje4

Right, so here's another one. I just heard it on a rockstation on the radio. It's apparently a very new band (they're also touring right now), and one of the radio hosts compared them to The Black Crowes. The only lyrics I could make out, but they are probably somewhat off - although I'm pretty sure the last part is correct - was, "mama I'm coming home, I'm done flying free". Yet again, google searching yielded nothing. edit: nevermind, I finally found what band it was. They're called Get Vegas. WantlessPonder fucked around with this message at 14:48 on Apr 4, 2008 |

I heard a song on a rock station today that I think has been around a few years. It features a piano in the beginning and throughout the song. I remember part of the lyrics, maybe the chorus, go something like "come back..." "come back to this..." It vaguely reminds me of Bittersweet Symphony with the singing and melody.
