Emerald Weapon might be the best fight in the game. Sure as hell has the best music. It's... well, I was wrong about the second phase going Big Zam. It's definitely pure-strain Gundam, but I'm not certain if it's any specific part of pure-strain Gundam.

I finished FFVIII this past weekend, so I really appreciated just how brutally the whole ending beats you over the head with the callbacks. Even right down to the loving leg cramp.

I absolutely understand being annoyed they do not actively say "they gay" but the entire last part of the series involves shot-for-shot remakes of FF8 with Gaia and Ryne in the place of Squall and Rinoa, repeated references to that specific love story, and when Gaia talks to Ryne using exactly the same phrases as she did with her old space boyfriend. They dating. And if you say that doesn't count I can only ask if you think Rinoa and Squall weren't dating.
