i rather like this one, nice mood and tones i like the first one, with the hopscotch. although it's a bit like two different photos arranged vertically i'm down with the last two, but especially the last one. i like the punchy tones and the alien landscape a lot

Question for you Portra 400 guys since I just bought my first roll (not used above): the guy in the shop said I should shoot it at 200, c/d? Assume I know nothing about film (or photography in general really)

You can basically shoot any film at any ISO in multiples of stops but you may not be happy with the results and the labs will almost always charge you more to over/underdevelop. Google image [filmname] [ISO] to get a preview of what you'd be in for. Why shoot portra at 200? That's only one stop off and honestly will look basically the same.

Gotta get those dense negs. I shoot my Portra at 200 but most of the time I'm winging it on the exposure so I'm not sure it's actually making a huge difference. The idea behind shooting a film slower than box speed would be to increase density in the shadow areas, but Portra 400 does have pretty ridiculous flexibility even at box speed so it doesn't make a gigantic difference at the end of the day.

shooting at 200 makes sense, since Portra has ridiculous tolerance for over exposure and it'll help bring out shadow detail. Really, there's no reason not to.

This pic really makes me curious about the story of that marker... and especially why it's there of all places.

In the US, fatalities from auto accidents are commonly marked with a white cross. Especially if alcohol was involved.
