I'm not sure if you've realized that on hit, Heatwizard deactivates your autodeflector, and you take 4 and die. I made the same mistake at first, thinking you could soak 2, but reading runkias special ability, it says specifically they can deactivate before applying damage.

This is how I pretty much play all games. With the table giving everybody advice. (Though not always the best advice, as when several people are offering it, most usually have an agenda of their own...)
