Though the spriggan may or may not understand the content of Lubash's challenge, it certainly understands the import. Charging forward with a raging scream it pummels the paladin with its mighty fists.

Or attempts to, anyway. This is not the first time that Lubash has learned the strength of steel armor forged in the fires of the Sliver Flame smiths.

The other spriggan, meanwhile, extends its arms far beyond what its diminutive stature would naturally allow, though Gwenvyn similarly shrugs off its blows as if her flesh were made of the densest stone.

"That's right! Hit me more!" Lubash says, a little disoriented despite his claims from poison and spiderweb. Spinning his blade, he cleaves an arc around him with a snarl, as he cleaves into his foes and empowers himself further with the blood of battle.
Restrained so can't shift or mark, so I'll just Strength from Valor the Spider and the Giant Soul to maintain my marks.
Strength from Valor vs Fortitude: 1d20+12 23 1d20+12 26 1d12+6 11 11 damage on both of them and 10 more Temp HP for me.
Saves: 1d20 18 1d20 7 Save against the Daze/Ongoing but not the Restrained.

Gwenvyn keeps pressing the attack, her hammer swinging in great arcs, but the spriggans are learning to give it a wide berth.

Shift one square, then a burst attack against the two spriggans I'm adjacent to.

"The grave opens its arms to embrace you, giantess!" the spriggan declares as he reaches out his hand. Gwenvyn feels her body recoil in revulsion from his touch.

Withering Touch vs. Ref: 1d20+11 16 1d8+9 10, reduced to 5 Necrotic damage after Moment of Glory.

The other hideous creature calls out, "And as for you, foolish mortals treading upon the verge of Mabar, bringing the cursed radiance of your filthy Gods -- your bones will feed the worms, as have all the others who have come before you!" The creature extends his palm toward Koal, and a wave of heat washes over him. The tree behind him pops and groans as the sap within it boils and bubbles out from its cracked surface, but the servant of Onatar has felt much greater heat from his own forge than anything the spriggan can inflict upon him. In fact, to the smith, the brief surge of summer-like warmth feels downright comfortable in the midst of the otherwise bitterly cold winter.

Sun Scorch vs. Ref: 1d20+13 14 -- that, however, is a miss.

Standard Action: Cordon of Bones. 1d20+10 (CA) vs. Sprite Swarm Fort: 20 (hit). Sprite Swarm takes 2d8+5 = 15 damage, plus another 5 necrotic for a total of 20. Cordon of Bones is an area burst attack, which may be relevant for the swarm.
The burst creates a zone OF BONES that lasts UEoMNT. Creatures in the zone take -2 to attack rolls, and a creature that enters the zone takes 5 damage.

The bones erupt all around the sprite swarm, shredding the diminutive creatures' wings and piercing their bodies. Not a single one manages to escape the onslaught.
Nearby on the battlefield, the enormous spider continues to engage with the paladin. Its fiendishly strong mandibles punch through his armor, and he can once again feel the potent poison coursing through his veins. The giantsoul pounds its fists against Lubash's armor as well, but the mail is fashioned to withstand this bludgeoning force far better than the sharp, piercing jaws of the spider.

Bite vs. AC: 1d20+16 30 1d8+5 7. Lubash takes 7 Necrotic + Poison damage (+5/-5 for Necrotic Vulernability/Moment of Glory).
He is once again also dazed and subject to 10 ongoing Necrotic and Poison damage (save ends both).

Doireann moves to encircle the Giantsoul in the back, hissing threateningly to prevent it from moving away from the melee. Meanwhile, Gràinne lashes out at the Witherer with spectral claws, making sure it doesn't flee either.

Each blow incites the Paladin ever further as he keeps fighting, even surrounded. The poison is making him light headed, but he presses on regardless. It seems like even as he starts to bleed, he just fights harder and harder; if it's his fanaticism or his half-orc blood, or perhaps a combination of both, he slices at the Spider that continues to harass him. But it seems to finally be wearing him down, as the venom, the web, and the ringing in his ears and the blood pooling in his armor is slowly taking it's toll on the warrior; he is not truly inexhaustible, and it is starting to be felt even as he fights.

Restrained so can't shift or mark, so I'll use Valiant Strike on the Spider, and maintain my other mark due to being adjacent. I am also Bloodied, which triggers Half-Orc Reslience so I regain 5 Temp HP after the poison ticks.

My paper soldiers form a wall, five paces thick and twice as tall.


Gwenvyn eyes the increasingly churned up field of battle, then shifts her grip on her hammer before slamming the end of the haft into the ground with a shout. A wave of bolstering energy fills the hearts of her comrades, and the goliath herself seems reinvigorated. An impression she proves true when she steps over to the spriggan and does her best to hammer his skull level with his shoulders.

"I've this one to hand, burn the rest down!"

Standard: Inspiring Fortitude. I use my Second Wind, regaining 15hp and getting +2 to non-AC defenses and +6 to AC until end of my next turn. Also, everyone else in the party gains 14 thp.

As the battle rages on, Lubash remains locked in mortal combat with the Tomb Spider, even as Gràinne fails to further injure the giantsoul. Meanwhile a bright radiance flares forth from Koal, as if the blazing fires of a massive forge had been lit right there in the desolate forest. The cold, deathly pall dampens the radiance somewhat, though a few of the creatures are not unaffected.

Perhaps most powerful of all the combatants, Gwenvyn launches herself against the isolated spriggan, smashing it with her hammer and locking it in the embrace of the earth. Though its movement is restricted, it does not seem to feel the need to retreat from Gwenvyn's assault in any case. Regaining its feet, it simply reaches out a hand to touch her again, a numbing cold spreading like a sickness through her robust frame. Meanwhile the other spriggan continues to send wave after wave of blistering heat toward Koal. Unlike the previous occasion, the scorching ray feels more than a little uncomfortable to the servant of Onatar.

The enemies are slowly being whittled down in number, but those still fighting show no signs of giving up. Once again the spider's mandibles seek to rend a hole in Lubash's armor, and once again the Giantsoul attempts to strike down the paladin with its fists. Fortunately for [bLubash[/b], only the spider manages to breach his defenses -- though he still must contend with the creature's debilitating poison.

Now he's feeling it. He's not buoyed by his apparent invulnerability anymore. He's getting sluggish and slow, his swings slightly slower, his breathing slightly more labored as he continues to be battered by venomous fangs. His vision is blurry and his voice woozy as he strikes out at the Spider again, his blade gleaming in the light. "Yes, have...have at me fell beast." he wheezes, not surrendering though it may be wise. The Spider avoids his grimacing blow, and he hisses. "Accursed creature..." He grips his sword strongly and slams the pommel into his own forehead twice, with a sound of metal on metal slamming. For some reason, it seems to clear his head, as he rips himself free of the webs that had been entangling him and his voice is much clearer as he screams afterwards. "Enough with your tricks!"
