How about some respect for a dead child rather than using it's corpse as a prop?

i don't see the big deal. back in the day you used to just genocide the natives when they got in the way and now you're not killing even a few of them. seems like they have it pretty good, honestly

I wonder there are some corporate big wigs who sit at home in a silent, shaking rage who would absolutely steam roll the protesters if they had the option. like some dude in a big leather armchair clenching a glass of scotch that he's ten seconds from casting into the roaring fireplace to go on a rant about destroying the peasants who dare to impede progress.

A lot of the revenue at most support social programs (a friend of mine works for Tulalip which one would assume is very well off but they're not doing that great); payouts are usually unallowable in many cases. Although I know the Chapokee/Mystic Lake get huge payouts, their members are millionaires--I doubt they're overly concerned about any of this.

I thought it was par for the course when protestors for Native American water rights were being sprayed with water in freezing temperatures and it was invisible in the news, but this is something else. I know nobody cares about the Natives or water, but why is the police dismembering a young woman not being reported on?

Honestly, there is an enormous amount of misinformation flying around among supporters of the protestors and a lot of the rationale that has been effecting the protests doesn't make a whole lot of sense under scrutiny. I still support the protestors on the whole, but I wish people could curb the echo chamber histrionics. Not that that will happen.

I remember in '05 or so that Native kid massacred a bunch of classmates in MN, and the thing dominating the news cycle was Terry Shaivo IIRC. I'm assuming if there was some Wounded Knee-esque massacre (which probably won't happen), it'll receive similar exposure.
