Which is extra amusing because if there's anything I've learned about the industry so far, is that it doesn't matter who is in the administration: there's always money to be made. For every ICE contract that gets shut down, there's another somewhere else to carry the load. Very rarely will the ~elite consulting class~ ever actually flat out lose on a deal, long term.

I may or may not be building one of those soon while I'm working on an experiment with phased arrays. (Same problem if you want to weaponise them as the lasers, power draw is nuts.). That railgun that was scheduled for your ships is just about the only electronic weapon that's been designed that mostly works. It's a really nice bit of kit even if it didn't pan out.

5 hours of childcare daily Monday through Friday for free isn’t that bad. And they will learn the language and culture of their new home country, which the kids would theoretically pass onto their parents through osmosis? Sounds pretty sane and reasonable.
