The 165 is pretty, but I still prefer the 175S. It's so vulgar, like something a cartoon character would drive.

Oh I didn't think that it still being in production after the war would make a difference unless I read the question wrong. Oh well!

Turbo Fondant

I mean 2003 is more than 'a couple years ago' now, but they were built well into the era of the fwd bug anyway.

All modern fwd hatches and CUVs descended from the VW Golf, which was a car made from the stolen plans for the mk2 Trabant.

I think the beetle's exclusion is more about the fact that 1, they were made by the very folks who instigated ww2 immediately before it and b) they never really caught on internationally until several years after the war.

That's why I went with Tatra, although I wrote the wrong model. Their air-cooled rear engine flat 4 was probably the inspiration for the Beetle.

That's the thing about Vin Wiki, a little bit is good, but it wears out its welcome pretty quickly. I also watched ~20 videos and despite it being a pleasant experience, I have no desire to ever consume their content again

+1

Ed is ok in small doses, Doug is goofy but his excitement with the weird little oddities of the stuff he reviews makes me want to give him a pass. RCR was fun at first but his shtick wears thin quick.

In terms of the good guys, I stand behind my answer. Savage Geese is great for reviews but I also find that small doses is best, it just doesn't hold my attention as much, and Binky while great, has a terribly slow release schedule, understandably so but still it's a bummer having to wait forever for updates. MCM is peak good car youtube, not pretentious, they have fun, regular updates, enjoyable to watch.

VinWiki is a mixed bag:

Ed is definitely embellishing or leaving out details in every story to paint a certain picture of himself.

Doug is just a moron and I can't stand him. If half his stories were some semblance of true he'd be in jail.

Some of the Boomer dudes they bring on are just telling complete bullshit.

Christopher is a loving gem and I 100% believe every story he tells, because they're the kinds of stories that don't have to be jazzed up.

I like the perfect split on RCR though. I bet there's a difference here between having watched it years ago versus now. Whole channel is worth the various LS swapped things that have cropped up.
