All three because I'm too used to switch games and kept pressing A when I wanted to press B.

But that colours the ball white so it's pretty cool.

I'm not as big of a fan of Psychonauts 1 as some people here, but so far I've been blown away by this game.

I've only gotten through two levels, and IMO they're better than the first two levels of the original. Wish I could play more of it, because the casino sounds like a cool loving place to go, but I have to do adult crap.

Also thank god someone decided to make figments more visible.

The various call backs to the first game are appropriately subtle and funny.

I also gives this game so much respect for taking place immediately after the first (rhombus of ruin between, I know) instead of doing a 15 year time skip or something.

Just wrapped up this level and the idea and execution were just impeccable. Just a wonderful way to reframe the platforming. Also there are extra really dumb pun jokes only in the subtitles so if you don't have them on turn them on.

Also I was expecting rebraining Nick to just unlock the office so I could do a level in Ford's head, but no this is a level in itself.

So how is this with keyboard and mouse? Better or the same as the first game?

The first games boss battles could be pretty infuriating without a stick for movement. But I've made it 34 years without a gamepad, I'll be damned if I have to buy one now. :corsair:

I'm another psycho who only plays with kb+m and the controls feel great. Definite improvement over the first game and everything is customizable up to recognizing additional mouse buttons.

What's the deal with the maternity part in the casino levels? I feel dumb, or that I missed something, but I'm not quite sure what point or reference the game was trying to make with it.

At first I thought it would have some deeper meaning but unless something gets revealed way later its just a hospital specialty just the same as cardiology and they chose it for the excellent rich parents dialog.

The Maternity part had me going "holy poo poo" more than once, like Im pretty sure the nurse/crouper has a loving speculum for a face and some of the poo poo the rich couple says.

As a general tip; you may want to save as many internship stars as you can for when you hit level thirty because the final unlock for the mental connections power lets you traverse "dark" thoughts. Basically every stage starting with the second will have at least one path only reachable via dark thoughts so if you hate seeing stuff you can't get the first time through a level bear that in mind.

I'm not sure if this is a really nitpicky complaint or not but so far I've noticed that there isn't as much subtext compared to the first game? I've only beaten two levels and done one Ford level and I was a little frustrated in Forsythe's level after I found the second memory vault, only post boss fight for her to monologue the same thing that the vault says. The overarching villain plot seems a little obvious to me too and I hope there's something that's surprising. The game's style is top notch though, really enjoying it.

Beat the game, hit rank 101 and don't feel like going after the handful of figments I missed. Overall very enjoyable experience, really good sense of visuals and a good sense of humor throughout. If I had to list weakpoints it's the power switching gets annoying, the last power being kinda useless and that due to a general overarching change in narrative delivery the brains have largely lost any subtext in favor of explicit text. Nothing as cool as Milla's secret room from the first game in this one, which is kinda sad.

I did appreciate that you can find the extremely tacky lamp in Sasha's office though. A+ reference.

Not a big fan of how it immediately shunts you off to the boss battle, and then from there out of the brain, once you've beaten the third course. They show me my prize for barely plating the third course in time and don't let me collect it! They had a break after every other course, why not this one too? And judging by the Steam forums, it can cause issues with being able to 100% the game.

This game is a direct continuation of the story of 1 (and the VR game), so you'll miss a lot of characterization. It'll recap it at the beginning of the game for you but it's not the same.

I'm installing the game now so tbh I'm just gonna dive in head first.

I remember all of the characters and a lot of the story just from watching it as a kid but I don't remember the plot at all tbh.
