so get an iPad

if they must get a mba they'd probably want the 13". base config should be fine given the requirements

how's the battery life on windows now? are they as power efficient as macs yet?

iirc there's like a 20+% gap between ether even with similar spec/battery size when Mavericks came out

depends on the hardware but i think windows computers still have issues with switching between integrated and dedicated graphics

plus apple is explicitly trying to save on power by locking out flash (though to be fair microsoft is trying to do that with ie as well)

i think yosemite is finally the nail in my 2011 mba's coffin. it feels way slower and beachballs all the goddamned time even doing nothing more taxing than looking at internets. also it gave me battery maintenance warnings and coconutbattery can't decide if it has 73% or 65% of the original capacity left. i'm trying to decide if the $110-130 (depending on whether i diy or just let apple do it) is worth it when the new mba should be out soonish

pre-10.10.2 i wouldve agreed with you but ever since that update the ol' mba is running as good or better than it has since it was new. i was really ready to pass it along but now its running so well i just dk

i had my battery replaced under applecare when mavericks came out and it popped a warning saying it needed replacing. i was ready to pay but the genius said no worries and also gave me a new screen because the original one had a smudge that was only visible on the grey login screen all gratis and done in four hours

ill admit i dont do anything on computers but surf the web and play a couple older games from time to time but for me this mba just keeps being the best computer ive ever owned
