Is it possible to compare the Patreon version vs the free version for the same prompt? Or would it not really work that way?

If you put the same prompt in, will it return something similar each time?

It's sort of obnoxious to switch between them but I'm running one now on the free version as a comparison of the same prompt. The main difference is the free version uses google's "Big Sleep" thing where it sources all of the images off of an initial starting image of an animal so things are strongly controlled by the shape of a dog, that's why you see dog faces show up so much etc. In the patreon version it just uses some dirt/noise as a source image so everything it creates is basically created from scratch controlled by the 'learn' process instead of from the source image of a dog

"Hell in the style of Roger Dean"

Patreon version:

e:
same prompt in the free version goes more like this:
https://i.imgur.com/beBkcMR.mp4
(I don't want to leave it running for another 30 mins to generate more frames but basically it just reiterates that pic)

Here are both images after 7 steps of generation:

as you can see in the free version - the black spots are dog noses. The pattern on the rocks is a dog nose. Etc. The patreon version is more like someone googled "Roger Dean art" and then made a collage out of the GIS results - but also it's not actaully parts of his actual paintings, it's just a stylistic copy (ai is really good at copying the style of famous artists with lots and lots of existing works to learn from)

You can put the same prompt into either. They give different results. Patreon version seems better most of the time.

That's very interesting and informative. Thanks!

That is what makes it very good with vague descriptions if you want to use it to make actual aesthetically pleasing pictures. For example this one from earlier just used the prompt "Nighttime in Neon City" and if you GIS that phrase you can see where the inspiration came from:

https://i.imgur.com/Us50g6a.mp4

There are a ton of results that are all similar but they are distinctly different things, so it has a large library of building blocks to use to create the final piece

But if you use specific phrasing in the prompt like "empire state building", it still has a ton of images to work from but they're all of just one specific object and it's like trying to build a lego set with just 5000 of one type of piece and no others.

Way back when Big Sleep came out Google compared it to machines dreaming so if you think of it in terms of dreams where details are fuzzy and you just get a vague sense of what's going on you can get some extremely rad pics out of it.

If you're as weirdly into this as I am I can recommend getting a paid subscription to google colab to get access to much faster GPUs. Using the Patreon version of the generator I can now generate about 1 iteration per minute as opposed to 1 per 3-5 mins I was getting as a free user. This whole thing only took about 6 mins to generate all 7 frames:

I used the free one, animation is just throwing the first 2-4 images into GIMP as layers then pressing export as gif animation each layer is a frame. I would like to see what premium spits out with goatse with corn that looked like it might go places but the render speed was horrible.

It isn't long now before "art" just gets made in request. After that, music, TV shows, movies, porn, even games.

I can see what the AI is doing in these pictures with my dumb human brain when I have the prompt and I'm absolutely floored.
