I know I've been posting a lot lately but today is Major's 10th birthday and that's a pretty exciting birthday to have.  I tried to get Mina to wear a hat and sing happy birthday but she wasn't feeling it.

Glad to hear it! He's still just as active as ever running through the woods after foxes and catching pigeons in the barn. You really can't keep a cattle dog mix, even a giant one, down. He got a birthday bunny.

I've been re-listening to the (excellent) audiobooks of James Harriott's early/mid 20th century country veterinary stories, so I am all about seeing and hearing about baby farm animals and good dogs with good jobs

Housecats and the wild felines they are recently descended from are not apex predators. Obligate carnivores, but not apex predators. There are plenty of things that prey on small felines.
