I just can't grasp the mindset of someone who picks an anti-tank assassin and doesn't salivate whenever the matchmaker is kind enough to give him a tank to kill. Like if you just want to get into dumb 1v1s with other assassins all game Illidan is right there.

As in you can be standing next to him with 25% HP and he would just ignore you and AA creeps.

On a similar note, Alex players seem to love taking the fireball ult but only using it to try and snipe enemy heroes even though it does piddly damage and is far better for healing. Point this out to them and boy do they get pissed.

Blinking should return him to normal stealth again.

Bogart posted:my team told me to go Smash Varian against Cho'Gall instead of Taunt even though our other tank was Zarya. they were all in agreement tho so like...i did it and we lost. This reminds me of a game I played just today. I was Butcher and the game gave me Artanis, Tracer, Varian, and Abathur as teammates. The enemy team was ETC, Chromie, Nova, Li-Ming, and Zarya. So melee versus range basically. At the start of the game the Varian asks "Taunt Varian?" and I say "yeah sure." If you guessed that he instead went Twin Blades congratulations, you've played HotS before. The punchline is we wound up winning anyway. Pre 10 we struggled because the sheer amount of long range burst was more than we could weather and Chromie's slowing sands made engaging hard, but because quickmatch is a clown fiesta once we got a stacked Butcher and Twin Blades Varian rolling we could just facesmash and take every merc camp in a matter of seconds. Also the entire time the Varian was trying to backseat drive the team, telling us to "stop feeding so much" even though he had as many if not more deaths than the rest of us. Sometimes winning simply isn't that satisfying.

Should only be able to go twin blades once you get varian to level 20 and only with a majority yes vote from your team

I've been on a quest to GIT GUD at genji, and at this point I finally feel useful in qm, like I've done that chase-down-dudes-with-D-blade thing that looks real dope. But the AI against genji? Holy moly. If you E at ETC, he'll do his powerslide the literal microsecond after you hit E so that he stuns you mid dash. Same with Kaelthelas, he'll instant whirlwind stun you mid-dash. It's crazy. Yup, they'll also stun/sleep/whatever you the minute you try to sweep as auriel. Hope you wanted the 10 second cooldown with no quest progress cause that's what you're getting.

They actually said a while ago they were going to try to make the AI a little dumber about abilities that don't explicitly place a big "don't stand here" sign on the ground, like Chromie's W.Bogart posted:That doesn't work, right? I can’t stand people who try to micromanage the builds of other players who aren’t asking for input. When someone starts up with that poo poo in draft or game I just usually say “let them play whatever build works for them” it’s better that way. Like the acrimony and distraction over having a build argument in chat is never better than the worst hobbled together poo poo build if it made sense to the person. You can’t teach a stranger how you think they should play a character in one game without grief. Although I agree that Varian produces the absolute worst kind of these arguments in chat, even though all three Varian ultimate/builds have situational merit.

TBV is probably the easiest character in the game to get value out of, I am not really ever upset by having him on my team. The only talents that really make me feel like we're being set behind by their selection are Survival Instincts and Furnace Blast, but there is no real reason to discuss it in-game.

It's important to remember that the game was basically an experiment that started as a mod for SC2. It doesn't look like this was designed from the ground floor to be a real product until some point in its development. I could be wrong but that is my understanding of all the development info I have seen so far.

That Volksoya game I posted a bit ago, the other team had an Abathur. And they did almost nothing but deal with me the whole game, which was the best thing that could've happened cause he was too busy trying to stop me, the Murky (unsuccessfully) and wasn't hatting his teammates. He kept hatting minions and his abomination. Which, by the way, once 16 rolled around I melted his monstrosity in like 2 seconds. Early on he could hit way harder than me, so it was kind of a stalemate at first but eventually I would overrun him and late game it just wasn't even close

Anyone got a good starter build for Kel'Thuzad they like? I'm gonna try to practice him today and looking at hotslogs I can't really make sense out of which of his talents are even good. I think the first build or two I tried were both kind of stupid but I think he's pretty fun and rewarding to play.

You basically need to practice his combo to be good with him. You chain someone then drop your Q, W, and R between your target and what you want to chain him to then activate the chain. It's basically one of the hardest combos in the game.

I mean you can make it waaay easier by making it E -> W -> E -> Q, and there's no significant damage loss.

Use globes as bait for landing skillshots. It's the best way to anticipate enemy movements, and with the 2018 change they have to pick between giving you double globes or eating a spell. Do this on all heroes
