It's worth noting that Marvel is run by Isaac Perlmutter, a big Trump donor and frequent Mar-A-Lago guest.

Political involvement[edit]
In 2015, Laura Perlmutter donated $2 million to a Super PAC supporting the presidential candidacy of Sen. Marco Rubio.[2]

In January 2016, according to Donald Trump, Isaac intended to donate $1 million to the presidential candidate's wounded veterans initiative at Drake University.[13]

On June 30, 2016, Laura Perlmutter donated $449,400 to a PAC supporting Donald Trump, and later was part of Trump's Inauguration committee.[14]

In April 2017, Perlmutter was categorized by the New York Times as one of the "Clubgoers" among twenty people whom President Trump consults "outside the White House gates". He "has been informally advising ... on veterans issues [and] ... has been a presence" at Mar-a-Lago, according to the account.[15]

Yeah, and if Disney don't like something and tell him to get rid of it, he's either going to listen or be out of a job. I thought it was a different artist, but the point stands.

Marvel is currently running multiple storylines where Hydra, the not-Nazi organization are secretly heroes. Marvel is a lovely company run by an aggressively lovely CEO and owned by the historically lovely Disney.

What exactly do you think Disney is going to do to the guy? He's still CEO and is in regular contact with Trump and gave him not-insignificant donations during the campaign. What would they do at this point? Vague "threats" about him losing his job are pretty meaningless when you 1) don't work at Disney, 2) Disney hasn't done anything to him and 3) Disney as a company doesn't hold any particularly liberal beliefs.

E: If donating $400,000 and bragging about how he's an unofficial adviser to Trump at Mar-A-Lago didn't prompt Disney to take action then they just don't care.

Don't buy Marvel comics.

Why is everything a boycott? You know, there are likely plenty that work for that company that don't agree with those politics.

Also who cares. If it's a bad story just wait until the next writer takes over and it's all been retconned.

Disney is all about optics, which is why they unofficially support the Gay Days at their parks. People know Disney owns Marvel. If people start going "Disney employs Nazis" rather than "Disney has people who support Trump," they can't risk Disney merch dollars going down. Disney dumped ICP from a record label almost no one knew they owned, just for PR. A Marvel CEO getting turfed sends WAY better PR.

They haven't been fired, and it's not Superdickery given it's been an ongoing story for almost a year and will be for several months to come. It'll be walked back eventually but it's very different from Superman trying to kill Aquaman by not letting him drink water or whatever.

I really doubt Perlmutter has any involvement in it either.

I appreciate that when you translate these you make the text infuriatingly small so it's basically impossible to read.
