The light raiders come under attack.

Looks like the carriers are back in range.

The carriers go into refit/train mode.

These guys are getting there, but at 4 miles a day, it may take some time yet!

Don't worry guys, I'm not ending this LP for several months yet, but if India and the Soviets don't play out, then I'm not going to do another year of dull. That said, I think I'm going to do some more risky raiding of the Allied bases, as long as you lot know I'm being stupid for entertainment.

Is it possible to cheat? I'd like to see a monster fleet trying to invade California.

Maybe in this timeline Japan can get some sort of peace where ther keep Korean and some part of Indochina.

Grey you have to show the New Zealanders how a proper invasion is done. Its not like they are likely to have that many non-combat crews left in their homeland.

Realistically at this point the USN probably has 8-12 Essex class carriers deployed, 1-2 surviving pre-war carriers, at least a half dozen CVL's, and a few dozen CVE's. And possibly the British have transferred whatever they have left that's still operational over to the Pacific. And yet none of them have been seen in months.

Also they should probably be able to do hundreds of strategic bombers striking at Japan pretty continuously in round the clock raids even if they have to use further away bases to do it. Definitely in favor for Grey of the 'if nothing happens interesting in the next couple of months, just plan to close it down' bit given the seemingly inability of the AI to do much and also on his end for him to push further anything.

My preference would be 6-8 weeks before anything too risky. In the meantime linger around the Mariana Islands hoping to gank a carrier TF that threw planes into the Guam meatgrinder.

Fortunately I didn't spend years of my life playing this game but I just don't want to see you attack a base and end up losing half your carriers from sniping by B-25s while P-51s eviserate CAP, and your bombers proceed unescorted into a swarm of enemy fights. I'm sure most goons would rather this option but the naval enemy still is more powerful, even if you get the jump on them. Then we trade "they're not doing anything" for "I can't do anything" which the latter option may take us another year.

Like many great shows and careers, sometimes it's best to let the audience wanting or wondering more than drilling it into the ground.

There's nothing to want or wonder about the game is broken and boring and has been for a year+ at this point. Yes, let's wait until probably August-ish to see if India and the Soviets produce anything interesting, but if they don't then there's zero point in hitting next turn for another year.

There are so many other insane things I could be LPing rather than hitting end turn on a broken game.

Like trying to do a Dominions 5 LP! Now that's something more insane than a 5 year LP....

Maybe as a ss game. Unless I gotin a mp game and did a video every day. I am a mediocre player due to never playing enough to get the meta.

I don't think it would actually work but a RTW2 set in this world's post war era could have some interesting moments.
