I have been enjoying this series (haven't read the most recent issue yet), but he really does like to take his characters for a very long walk before getting to the point. Sometimes that walk is enjoyable to read, but still.. edit:And we all know how Superman and long walks work out.

I really liked Bryan Hill's first Detective issue, even if the villain's "Batman's friends make him weak, so I'll kill them" deal isn't exactly original.

I thought introducing an optimistic teen Batman fan just to have him immediately get murdered was pretty cheap drama. Also very, very predictable.

...aaaaaand US only, which was basically guaranteed as soon as they decided to put movies/TV stuff on there. (Which suggests to me that they're hoping to leverage the original shows to Netflix or other services in other territories)

I just read Man of Steel #5. And I am starting to sour on Bendis on Superman. The scene with Oz and the "poo poo caca" line were really bad. The latter was so bad I kept rereading thinking I had suffered an aneurysm and that I wasn't actually seeing what was really written. But, no, The Flash really says "poo poo caca."

I am bit behind. What's the new badass villain that smashed the bottle city and is supposed to be one of the cool new additions to Superman's Rogue's deal. Like is he a human, meta, alien? Super Strong, Smart?

He's an alien warlord guy who argued with the elders of the universe that Krypton's advancement would eventually cause them to enslave other planets and he should be allowed to destroy it. He was denied and so it's implied that he went rogue and was behind blowing them up (this hasn't been explicitly show, so it's probably not going to be true.) He heard about Superman being on Earth and came down to wipe the remaining Kryptonians out. We don't have the full picture of why he has such a hate-on for the species.

He seems to be involved with Jor-El and the last issue suggested he was a Kryptonian himself (he is empowered by the yellow sun of Earth). Or Daxamite, his name rings more Daxamite to me, like Sodam Yat. Also is it me or is it like blatantly clear that the 'mysterious symbol' of his no one recognizes looks like the Flash's? And the Daily Planet is on the verge of bankruptcy and/or being sold, criminals in/around Metropolis are going crazy, and there's a string of arsons in the city. I figure Bendis thought that Supes has gone toe to toe with Mongol, Darkseid etc so many times that he wanted to give him someone new to beat up. Having a new character means he can add a whole new history/backstory without having fans go "well Superman beat Mongol a year ago and there was no mention of Krypton being dicks there therefore....."

Like some guy making Darkseid give up against him cause he got blinded. (When Darkseid can project the Omega beams from any part of his body not just his eyes. He can even project it out of other people's bodies.)

Which boy? This boy? Me boy? Is repeated in the next issue very poignantly. In the finale, Superman is at death's door, but a text box appears. He recalls Flash's words, "Maybe he's full of caca poo poo", and all of a sudden Clark knows just what to do. edit: "Which boy? This boy? Me boy?" would be a pretty good bad band name.
