I finally got the X-Men wave!  Thinking about Iceman and those who don't like the spikey look, it shouldn't be hard to mod him. The plastic is fairly gummy with zero paint apps, so if you just heat an xacto, you should be able to cleaning and easily cut them all off. And the back piece is removable on its own too. The only sticking point would be the head which you would need to live with or find a replacement.

Matty Collector is shutting down at the end of the year, but Super7 is taking everything over. They only mention the MOTU line in their email, so hopefully Thundercats will continue forward. Should reveal everything at the Super7 panel.
