I still enjoyed it. Heck i got 1000/1000 achievement on the xbox 360 version and then got the platinum on the PS3

I watched an LP of FF13 and it seems like a game determined to hide its own story from the player.

They spent so long on the pretty nice looking cgi bits that when it came to actually making the game they only had time to string everything together with straight corridors, that's why half the story is told in the menu. Good job the combat system is the best in the series.

One of the bits I never got my head around was. The boss fight against one guy. He pretty clearly dies. Shows up in the CGI Cutscene afterwards (which was pretty dope) says 1 or 2 lines and is then again killed off.

i dunno how combat is in ff10 or the games after it but the whole system in ff7 and 9 and chrono trigger is like consistently my least favorite part of playing old ff games cause it feels super tedious and basic and the whole "action" side of atb just feels like it makes things even slower because you're spending even more of the fight just watching meters and animations and it makes it disadvantageous to speed things up with turbo because you're just giving enemies more opportunities to attack you while you can't react fast enough to fight. it doesn't help that on chrono trigger's end you've got like, one of the most mindless combat systems i've ever played that the game also kind of just makes you repeat a billion times without ever changing it up in any interesting way. i had enough of that system with ff7 and it's just put a damper on my enjoyment of any other game that uses it
