I wouldn't mind a Norscan LL for Chaos that inherits the current start of scrambling for dominance in the north, while the current lords take on a much more monstrous starting position that better fits the ideal of playing as Chaos.

Necroskowitz posted:So I get that Tilea is Italy and Estalia is Spain, but what are the Border Princes all about? The Balkans, sort of, but the Old World doesn't perfectly map to Europe for all that it's an obvious pastiche of it. The Border Princedoms are where you go when you're absolutely sure that you are the man to finally bring order to these squabbling nobles and petty armies and forge a new kingdom, thereby increasing the number of squabbling nobles and petty armies by one. Alternatively, you and your cronies got thrown out of everywhere else in the Old World. There's a lot of space in the Frontier and plenty of failed kingdoms to loot.

I think they disallowed that kind of licensing, but I might be misremembering and thinking of Age of Sigmar based mods. On the bright side, I don't think the game's super small faction sizes would accommodate a Total War style game at all. There wouldn't be nearly enough unit diversity to work well, which gives me hope GW wouldn't try and shoehorn it in.

When it's over the traveler asks his guard what "Prince X" thinks of bandits fighting on his land, the guide responds that Prince X was leader of the group that just won the fight.

In the empire, an Emperor can own anything from a single province with a city state, covering dozens of towns, villages and urban areas, to a fully united realm, with a half-dozen city-states, hundreds of smaller cities and thousands of tiny villages, granting them an army numbering in the tens of thousands, equipped with the very latest death-dealing machines and cosmic enchantments. In the border princes, an emperor can own anything from a house, to two houses. Let me put it this way: the most powerful noble of the border princes has about as much respect and importance as your average imperial mayor or bretonnian knight.

Just started a game with M'Lady of Goku (Fey Enchantress). With the Greenskin incursion, she is swole as gently caress right now. It is also ridiculous amounts of fun to have a lot of cav against goblin incursions, because Knights Errant will just completely overrun their position and knock them completely out of line like ragdolls..

I hear the third expansion is going to retroactively delete all content from the first two and be an Age of Sigmar game. You can play with the old armies, but they all have awful legacy rules.

Last we heard they're not going to touch stuff like Kislev, Border Princes, etc. until all the sides which have had army books at some point are done. Also, Border Princes are super weird. They're not a coherent nation. They're just a series of hundreds of fiefdoms of various sizes, from city-states to weird rape-cabins like Craster's Keep in GoT. Some of them are ruled by former Bretonnians, some by Empire guys, some by Tilea, etc. It's a crazy mix. They're probably the least likely to get fleshed out of all the minor nations.

I like Bret's campaign objectives being bare-bones and straight forward, get chivalry, get money at breakpoints, win the game at 1000. Your empire can be as big or small as you like to win and there aren't a dozen chapter objectives that are mostly impossible to complete before the next batch of objectives pop up.

Shouldn't really be a faction or any factions far as I see it. Should just an area of the map where there aren't really settlements you can control, but there should perhaps be settlements that can raided and traded with in some respect, and perhaps allow for replenisment of soldiers in return for paying extra upkeep and a place you can go to hire mercenaries coming from all over. At least that's kind of how I feel. A "Border Princes" faction doesn't really make sense. I would love to see Tilea, Estalia, Kislev and Araby actually fleshed out as factions somewhere down the line and their respective regions expanded and given some further detail (especially with regards to Tilea and Estalia, which both seem way too small).

I wish there were victory cinematics, if only for an animated rendition of Grimgor clowning Archaon. Also I had a gameplay in mind for Skaven, they could be a "persistent" horde. So they play basically like a horde faction, but the horde buildings actually represent that Lord's holdings in the underway. If the stack gets wiped, the horde respawns in a few turns with a new lord and a lovely half stack (composition could be influenced by buildings, so a T5 super horde might spawn a pretty decent army with special units while a T1 would be 4 slaves and a clanrat unit), but intact buildings. Would also help the AI skaven present a constant menace. vintagepurple fucked around with this message at 18:12 on Mar 2, 2017 |

Thought of something simple for a mod that might make specialized caster lords better, what if their spells were overcast versions as the base and overcharging those with the miscast chance would just reduce their wind cost and cooldown? Might make a master necromancer worth taking over a vampire if he could have cheap summon skeletons and AOE heals and the like and be able to use more of them then a regular necromancer or vampire. Your trading a lot of killing power from a melee lord to take someone like gelt or kemmler or generic caster lord, the spells should be numerous and worth the trade-off.
