At least there's some pushback against the doom and gloom but ye gods and little fishes, what angst they pull from their own asses. Man, the about face on them is pretty hilarious. They went from "Wow, these seem pretty cool and powerful" to bemoaning how trash they are and they are just worse versions of existing casters is hilarious. Not ret though. Ret remains strong!

I just don't get how anyone could look at Tristan and think "meh" or "poo poo tier will never play." I didn't buy the Tristan LE box because I'm focusing on Cygnar right now but I'll be buying him as soon as he is in general release.

Right now myself and another guy in my meta are doing caster rotations. Each week we bring 2 casters. Win or lose the caster we pick gets replaced with a new caster next week while the old one stays as its pair. I find it forces you to play outside of your comfort zone and really see what your faction has to offer.

Personally I am excited about playing melee cygnar because for the first month there are gonna be players with utter poo poo placement who bitch about how terrible those lists are without realizing that it is the player who is terrible. Gonna be some great victories where my opponent snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

I mean it's one thing to say "I think this caster is not very good" and to have an objective discussion about it and it's another thing to have a giant temper tantrum for days on end. Internet being internet it's hard to tell if it is 20 people expressing reasonable dislike at a reasonable frequency or 5 people losing their poo poo.

Tristan is the tits. He can do so many things. Jack Gun line? Check. All melee jack? Oh yeah. Mixed arms? Mega check mother fucker! The only thing he doesn't do is infantry spam. I am not looking forward to seeing him on the table.

Ok, the PP Protectorate forum wasn't actually complaining as much as I'd remembered and most of the complaints about an aspect of Tristan were balanced with something those posters were positive about, I guess I was conflating it with the Cygnar forum's Jakes thread. Plus Menoth has so many weapon master units to poo poo damage out. Defender Warded Errants go really well with him. An embarrassment of riches.

I played him in our welcome to MK3 tournament paired with Amon - only played him into Ossyan+Hyperion+AFG+Discordia+the shadowbind jack + heavy rifle teams, and it was pretty sweet. His feat didn't do anything here but I was able to jam him out of his own zone with Daughters and Errants, and Shield Guarding the Hyperion's consume shot to where it hits nothing but the Templar is the best. Thanks for the heads up on models selling out. Ordered a skarre, witch doc, and aiakos2 before the store cleared out. Almost put the shade1 in the cart but ehhhh. Jnm league today got 2 games in. Lost both. I don't know how to deal with dwarves. Second against legion and it came down to missing 3 bane charge on his caster and mine surviving a nereph charge. I'd have landed the kill but the fire on Agathia didn't go out with 3 hp left. Solid as hell game, probably the best I've ever played.

So I just played List against Nemo 1 that I think beats out sloan at the ranged jack game. Was something like this: Nemo1 2 minutemen A ton of chargers Tactical arcanists Squire Gobber tinker 2 fully boosted range 12 pow 13 shots from each jack each turn. Minutemen to clear jam. Pushed my poo poo in pretty hard. .

I only played with her twice tonight but I wasn't super impressed with Jakes. The feat turn was cute but getting reach-less SK into position to take advantage of positive charge was a pain in the rear end. She also really underperformed in melee every time I tried to do something cool with her. They should have given her weapon master or something imo. Another guy at my store described her as a discount Stryker 2 and I think that's pretty accurate. I hope I'm wrong because the concept and model are both really cool (escort owns), but I'm pretty down on her right now. Granted I probably played her like poo poo, but she didn't seem as immediately powerful as some of our other casters did the first time I played them. Like pCaine for example. I never got too much value out of his feat tonight, but Snipe and Dead Eye on Storm Lances with the Laddermore buff did a ton of work. I think he's definitely going to be my caster pair with Haley 3. I'm so glad I started playing this game again. Now I just need to buy and paint all these new gucci faction models I skipped in MKII.
