Direct north, EA-6B Prowler, west of it F-4, directly south is F-111 Aardvark, SW of the Phantom we have an F-15 in aggressor colors and an F-4U Corsair. East of the AWACS craft we have an F-5 Tiger, then a Falcon south of that and an F-8 Crusader west of the Falcon. Don't know jack-all about the old-school ones on there, though. The middle MiG is a -23. the bottom one is a -15. Just north is a UH-1 and an F-18 A/B

Only one you missed was the stealth S-3. Starting from the Huey at the top, going counterclockwise: UH-1: F-14: A-6: MiG-23. This one surprised me, I always thought they were somewhat bigger: F-4: MiG-29: MiG-17: A-7: F-86: MiG-15: F-8: Navy F-16: Bonus S-3. I guess it wasn't up yet when the Google picture was taken: A-4: MiG-21: F-5: E-2:

If I had to guess, I'd also say that it's to keep the sun out (I'd imagine the plexiglass canopies would trap a lot of heat, which over time could damage any plastics and such left on the inside).

Came across this, cockpit audio from an F-4 getting shot down by an SA-2 in Vietnam. The video clips are unrelated to the event, but the text describes it well, only mistaking the flight callsign "Dodge" for "Fox". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0kAJunnnGQ A heavy moment: "Where's Alpha?" "Didn't see a chute." "..."

http://www.npr.org/2014/02/15/275877755/the-secret-operation-to-bring-nazi-scientists-to-america When I heard this interview, I had an inkling it was Annie Jacobsen again. I think the breathless tone talking about various things that I, and indeed other historians had all known when we were 13 gave it away. Why do people keep talking to this woman, didn't her insane Area 51 book prove she doesn't know anything?

It's fair enough that the story needs retelling at regular intervals and that not everybody knows about it, but it seems like the research depth is limited Wikipedia and Discovery Channel and then she presents it as if she is responsible for unearthing it. Even the title is a white lie, the program was only secret during the war. It was public and very contentious issue during the space race. To wit, Tom Lehrer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTKn1aSOyOs

Did the passengers all get $5 meal vouchers as compensation for the inevitable half-day delay to bring in another plane and all the subsequent missed connections, or did they get nothing at all?
