well I think I found some actual slave traders, so I'm not bothering redacting the name of this person who works for a company she doesn't even name on her current LI or in this communication. My original reply here ("laudable work") was naive as gently caress but the flipside is I have worked with a bunch of teams in the countries she names and while, yes, they always get less than US employees, these numbers are so far below anything involved in any project I have touched, it just seems like naked loving slavery to me

I mean from somebody's post about how Chinese build projects apparently differ from western ones in Ghana I'd say that it happens everywhere from one degree to another. If your country's economy is beat down (even if by the same people hiring you) and you do get a make work job your still gonna take it if it beats what else you could do I'm pay. It's how capitalists have held on so long to support, but much of what people have in terms of like for capital is based on the past. They are cutting future support as a neutral consequence of refusing to share Ill gotten gains with the people near them to create more collaborators. As they continue to ignore their own infrastructure and abandon more of the world they will experience increasing difficulty preventing socialism from resurging. There is nothing they can do to stop this as it is a result of their own success and every time they get out of the consequences of their actions it continues to build the circumstances that have been challenging them more and more. There will always be enough for what people need if they can work together, or at least there will be for much longer than we'll have the resources to sustain capitalism at a level that can allow it to contain socialism.
