Some people here seem to be missing the implication of this groups name. Let me spell it out loud and clear. Men is key because it denotes a group notice it isn't the singular of man. The main confusion here is around the term "their own way" some goons seem to think this is something deeper than it is. It is the gay way plain and simple. Men Going The Gay Way I hope this clears up everyone's confusion.

I think the term "chad" generally implies being a jock but from what I can tell shy effete gay dudes don't have any trouble scoring as long as they're attractive e: for that matter I don't think I've ever heard of any gay dude complaining about not getting laid, they seem to have an easy time at it no matter what

femmy dudes are kind of in their own realm which macho dudes look at with revulsion(often paired with attraction?) I would not be surprised, though, if the kinda dudes who are mad at homochads are also mad at twinks loquacius posted:e: for that matter I don't think I've ever heard of any gay dude complaining about not getting laid, they seem to have an easy time at it no matter what

The thing is to insult someone but make it their fault when they take offence and implying the onus is on them to be a bigger person. "You're a fat oval office. Oh what are you so mad about? Pfft I don't get mad when people call me a fat oval office I am a bigger man, guess theres no way to deal with you rationally!" This is basically every thunderf00t or feminist or whatever video I've ever seen on youtube.

Dienes posted:A man being told he is "being a bitch" is used as an insult because it is implying he's behaving like a woman. I'd agree it's a gendered insult, though not necessarily for that reason. "Bitch" seems to have different implications depending on whether it's leveled against a man or a woman. Usually when a man is called a bitch, it's because he is whiny and/or cowardly. When leveled against a woman, it's usually because she is capricious and mean. So, yes it's "gendered" in the sense that it affects the genders differently. When a man is called a "bitch" I'd argue that the person doing the name calling probably doesn't intend to say that the man is acting like a woman. Even if that was the original form of the insult, it's mutated since then to have a different meaning.

i try to avoid using words like bitch, not necessarily because i'm 100% that it's always sexist, but because if you do, the insultee has an excuse to immediately discount whatever you said

Most of the people I know don't treat bitch like a gendered insult, including the women. Around strangers I tend to avoid using swears altogether but if I'm dealing with an ivory tower academic I'm particularly careful to avoid terms that could be misconstrued.

Something I've always found interesting is the number of women who find "oval office" to be a really terrible word inside the US, but in the UK it's basically like saying "hello".

I know girls who cuss like sailors and don't get offended at most really sexist stuff, but for some reason the word oval office just triggers something in them. What is it about that word that's so offensive?
