After 169,000 miles I decided my BMW E46 320CD was costing too much to be worth while, so I've just bought this: Mercedes Benz C250 CDI, very happy so far

Yeah, in the last 6 months it's hilariously failed it's MOT (Rear wiring was so broken if you put the rear fog lights on the reverse lights came on instead) and had a complete front spring give up - I could've gotten it in better shape but that investment wouldn't have added anything to resale over the cost, and I put about 15,000+ miles a year on it. I'd been looking for a low mileage 330Cd manual but the only one available is the other end of the country - this was at a garage 30 mins away

Why were Japanese cars of that sort of age so crap in terms of rusting rear arches? *edit: Failed the MOT; 001; rear brake excessively fluctuating (offside and nearside) 002; brake hose excessively deteriorated (nearside front) 003; brake hose excessively deteriorated (offside front) Advisory; Suspension arm has slight play in ball joint, Nearside rear To be fair I've had some HEL brake hoses on my 'to buy' list for a while, I guess they were slightly more desperate than I thought. Rear brake fluctuating is a case of whacking the calipers off and giving them a clean from what he said though I'm going to replace the rotor and pads anyway. All in all not bad considering the car was less than well cared for before I got the thing. Olympic Mathlete fucked around with this message at 15:26 on Apr 3, 2017 |

Half a point. A further 5 if you guess what it fails on during the retest. Also I'm wondering how accurate the scales they have on the ramps are because the axle weights cited on the sheet are faaaaaat.

When I sell things, I ask for about 130% of what I really think the value is. Someone who lists at 100% might be a lot more reluctant to think about a 75% offer than me.

Currently journeying through Bavaria and having a great time. Stopped off on the Romantische Strasse for some lunch. Stopped off at another rest spot just outside Rothenburg ob der Tauber as there were some great panoramic photo opportunities nearby. Staying in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which is an absurdly pretty town. Today we head down some more of the Romantic Road before breaking off and heading to Munich. Fun times.

Just picked up this '95 Miata, and man is it clean as hell. Seriously no rust at all anywhere. Drove it from Milwaukee back to PA, about ~850 miles, which of course rock chipped the absolute gently caress out of the hood and bumper. The paint was absolutely perfect when I left Ordered a Dr. colorchip kit, so we'll see how that goes... I plan to use it mainly as a fun summer car, going to fully refresh the suspension, so all bilstein dampers and all new rubber (possibly poly) bushings, wilwood brake kit, and a rollbar so I can take it to the track at some point this summer. Once I get it sorted I'm going to slap in a turbo.
