According to reddit, Navi is announcing some sort of disband or other news about the team sometime soon. They said "soon" 7 hours ago and are scheduled to play in the next few hours, so I imagine the announcement will happen in the next hour or so.

I dont understand how english casting coverage has regressed this badly in two years. Half the games arent casted, and half of those that are casted is just random talking over a 2 second off-sync sound. Compare that to GD Studio at TI4 or RuHub now and its just depressing. As is the difference in video quality between https://www.twitch.tv/dota2ruhub2 and https://www.twitch.tv/beyondthesummit2 . I need to learn russian I think :<

(edit--for the English scene, at least) There's a lot to it and most cases have their own variation on a few themes. There are the people who stopped casting because they were passed over by jD and BTS and didn't see any other way to climb up the ladder of opportunity. There are the people who couldn't handle the criticism or otherwise handled their community interaction very poorly. There are the people who tried and did well but then were never invited to The International (or I guess nowadays, a Major) and so they gave up because they felt like the casting scene was saturated. What most of these have in common is money and advancement, basically. People who were doing small-time casting gave up because they didn't see a way to get money nor did they see a way to gain community support. Everyone who showed promise and community support were promptly picked up by BTS or jD. Also, jD for a long time has held the means to do pretty much all non-little-league tournament work. That goes for tournament organizers, too, because as a result they are not able to get their events legitimized by appearing on the Reddit /r/dota2 event list, which comes directly from jD ever since they switched from GG in like 2012 or whatever. And the only way to get your tournament on the jD event list is if either you convince jD to cast the event, which means money, or if you have Tobi on your Skype friends list. The only other alternative to get your tournament legitimized and therefore have viewers and opportunity to advance in community support/recognition is to make an offer to BTS or to convince an established pro streamer or personality to host the event on their channel or otherwise advertise it for you, which requires money.
