Hussie's definitely been paring back on the chiptunes lately. That's one of the reasons some of the earlier contributors like Buzinkai aren't around much anymore. So the first track is a remix of a remix, and Anbroids V2.0 isn't doing it for me the way the original does, but I'm 10% of the way through it and haven't heard Doctor yet so I'm calling it a win.

I just gave the new album a listen through, and I'm afraid to say there aren't enough songs that really appeal to me like volumes 8 and 7 did. The aforementioned Dogfight, Noirscape, Portrait, Hate You, and for some reason Busting Makes Me Feel Good (could always use a little bit of Bowman's silly vocals) are the tracks that are making this almost worth buying. Perhaps I need more time to let the new music grow on me.

Normally I'd say that's getting deeper than necessary, but this is Homestuck. Now I'm wondering how those can fit in because Hussie always uses the deeper meanings/metaphors as well as the superficial. Although it would fit that uu is auditory just from how much he talks. Even more than Aranea who's just longwinded, I get the feeling he enjoys the sound of his own voice from the way he talks. Also, that drawing looks like a lizard trying to make out with a blob wearing Dirk's glasses. At least, I think that's supposed to be his glasses. That incredibly lovely drawing made me laugh more than I might have thought. I am also liking how Dirk is differing from Dave in a situation like this. Dave would troll the gently caress out of uu and resort to colourful metaphors to describe how bad it is, but here Dirk is giving it bluntly and specifically saying why it's bad. I think Dirk is one of the most well spoken characters in the comic. That comment about JuJus is kind of interesting. And ominous.

Since that's something you do to real selves, not dream selves, it won't be Dirk who dies, but it could be Dirk who kisses. So if Jake dies, both Jane and Dirk may want to kiss him, or at the very least argue about it until something happens and then whoops they can't. Or if Jane dies Jake might swoop into action to kiss her back to life, leaving Dirk frustrated. I dunno I sort of like the idea that AR really did mean for them both to end up here with Dirk but unless AR's got some more tricks up his sleeve or any more knowledge in his back pocket this situation doesn't seem to help anyone.
