I sold mine for retail price like 10 years ago. They really should have advertised them better. E: new page, talking about the GB Micro.

Speaking of "retro" Nintendo tech; has anyone on here gotten the NES Classic? Once they do a SNES version (I'd put money on the fact that they will), I'll snatch that bitch up in seconds.

They cost like $60 but last week were selling for like $2,000+ on ebay. Is supply that limited for them? Will production ramp up soon and they'll be easy to get for $60 and the people who spent 2k will slit their wrists? Or was it just a handful of Martin Skrelli's to whom money is no object compared with immediate nostalgia coupled with not having to figure out how to turn on a raspberry pi?

I think the high prices are just people speculating - it's clear that these things are insanely popular and right now the supply can't keep up, so people are gambling that they'll become major collector's items down the line. I have a feeling Nintendo will ramp up production though, they like money.

I've got an emulator setup but really like the idea of something this well executed.

one of our paralegals got one of the NES classics at $60 or whatever because the local gamestop only got 5 and some idiot told her she could "reserve one" by paying $5 a month earlier. She kept her receipt and just happened to go in the day before they could sell them to ask about when she could pick it up. I asked her if she was going to sell it on Ebay for $200, and she said, "gently caress no, I want to play Mario."

I bought a building permit for a new fence. Best in mind I've already had to buy a zoning permit for this...a fence requires two permits with nearly identical info on both. Exciting stuff, home ownership. I guess in a week or two when it gets installed I can post in here again for the fence itself. And then I can post about the final construction permit inspection I'll have to pay for to close out the building permit...and then after that the final Certificate of Occupancy to close out the zoning permit. I can see why getting older and owning property turns people more conservative and resentful of government getting all up in their business.

I know it's never gonna happen but an SNES with internet multiplayer would get over a hundred bucks from me. My emulator 15 years ago had that.

I could see one of these third party console clone companies creating something like that. Or trying to at least. Not sure if it would even be possible from a programming perspective.

It's built on high elevation, so no worries about flooding. That is the "staged home", there is dumb poo poo everywhere. I'm OK with the carpet since it's a warm cozy room, it just needs restretched.

Historically, real estate has pretty much always gone up in value. Which is why real estate has always been considered a good investment. It can't be destroyed (well, except for Love Canal/Chernobyl type events), and pretty much always at least paces inflation. You buy something, you hold onto it for a long time (living in it or not) then you sell it for more money, it was an investment. Even if it loses money, it was still an investment. Just a bad one.

Beautiful houses. I'm not a fan of the windows EVERYWHERE but that's cause I'm more of a "walk around in my underwear all day and don't give a gently caress" kinda guy, and I live next to a school, so yea my windows are covered with blinds and curtains. My recent purchase came in today, which was 3lbs of tootsie rolls. I weighed em on the scale out of curiosity and yep, 3lbs on the dot. I'll have tootsie rolls around till I'm probably dead. Not a bad purchase for 12$.
