The problem with white people saying the n word is that they reinforce its use every time it is said. So if you said it as a dumb teen, it makes more acceptable as an adult. If you said in anger about something irl, then it makes it acceptable when you say it online. The n word is always this chicken and the egg situation but instead like racist white people or white racist people or whatever the gently caress stupid analogy. That he said it in a moment of uncontrolled anger says to me that he's repressing saying it at other times, so it's something along the same lines as a Freudian slip, in that it provides a window into a part of his mind that he otherwise keeps secret. Not like it's exactly surprising to hear that he said it, given his past comments, but I hate the "he just made a mistake", "black people are the real racists", "it's only offensive to you", etc. apologists that swim in the wake of a comment like this. Guy's racist but has enough self-awareness to know that he can't go full-on 1488 without losing a ton of future money, so we only get occasional glimpses of what he really thinks.

I don't think PDP is really alt-right, at least in the sense that he has any political goals or anything like that. He's more of a megalomaniacal idiot who let the popularity of his screaming at video games videos go way to his head. Now he is perfectly ok being coddled by alt-right shitheads who tell him he's fine just the way he is despite evidence to the contrary. He's certainly helped normalize lovely behavior, and I'd prefer if he went away forever.
