Really? I saw that screenshot yesterday, then I was too busy to look in to it further but I thought about it all day and couldn't figure out what it was.

I mean, I'm not exactly questioning your assertion of it's obviousness, I'm more questioning how come it didn't occur to me. I'm 50/50 between those two options I guess.

edit: Well, I didn't really think about it all day...my life is a little more interesting than that.

I don't know how to fix it, but maybe you could make the most out of the situation and try out life without a file manager on your phone. There are probably other, better supported workflows you could switch to.

I think what throws it some is it's round to match the other one. If it was square, I think it would be a bit more obvious it was the shade, but then it really wouldn't match.

The funny thing is that it is not. It is the settings for "Good Lock" which actually doesn't let you customize anything on the notification tray. It lets you change the settings for the lock screen and set "routines" which are pretty much schedule or location triggered toggles and theme color settings.

edit: I actually like the new app switcher that shows a list of apps instead of screen shots. That way I don't have a bunch of screen shots of all the porn I have been looking at in the men's room and on the bus.

What do you homers do with your phones at night? When I first got into Android I picked it to death, always micromanaging, turing radios and features on and off to maximize battery life until it got so tedious it pretty much turned me away from the platform. When I got that Nokia 1020 Windows phone I left everything on all the time and the battery life was amazing. Anyways bringing me to now, I settled on the Moto X Play, my friend (albeit hardly a power user as far as phones go) said the battery life was really good so that was a factor in my purchase. I'm only on my second full charge, but god drat it both nights it burned about 25% idling on my night stand. This morning, cell standby shows 7% usage and bluetooth 6%, those are the highest. When it was nearly drained before I charged yesterday everything was evened out with nothing over 4 or 5% usage, so there is no smoking gun.

Every year or so I'll see an article claiming some new battery tech has been discovered that will exponentially advance battery capacity and stuff but I've yet to see it. Buying phones has become boring. When I went from Galaxy S to S3, I was happy to get a flash on the camera, plus at the time that had a whole bunch of cool new gimmicks features, I'm pretty sure the ear proximity sensor was a new thing on that. I dunno. On one side of it when I'm shopping for a phone I'm thinking, its just a phone, I dont need to be on the bleeding edge, but at the same time it would be cool to see some interesting new features. Mainly I just want battery life to improve, far as I'm concerned charging should be a once or twice a week thing by now. Also would be nice if stock android wasn't butt ugly and boring. Yes yes yes I know, launchers, themes etc but you should be able to apply custom colors even out of the box.

Plug in overnight, quick charge during the day if needed. Don't worry about it, you're buying a replacement in 2-3 years anyway.

I've been leaving my phones plugged in over nights since I've been using a cellphone back in like 2002 or something. Nothing bad has happened.

Your phone is likely dropping large amounts of battery life from a rogue app or something that's wsakelocking it. Or it's faulty.

You will need to disable to following every night in Android Operating System in order to preserve processor reliability and battery power:

turn off wi-fi
turn off bluetooth
turn on airplane mode
set screen brightness to 10%
turn off notifications
leave phone unplugged at all times between dawn and dusk

Doing the following will slow down transistor wear in your Android Operating System phone, and ensure your battery's continued virility.

No its not. On top of it not being obvious why in gods name would you need to access notification settings so frequently that it necessitates it being next to the actual Settings button?

Were you shocked and horrified by the AT&T edition of the Galaxy S7 having a DIRECTV ad inserted into the notification shade?

Well, the AT&T edition of the LG G5 is now getting previewed and it doubles down. Actually no, it triples down, it has three ads inserted into the notification shade.
http://www.androidcentral.com/att-has-made-its-bloatware-even-worse-lg-g5

That's three ads inserted into the notification shade in addition to the 15 pieces of bloatware that come preinstalled.

Apparently the first few days these phone go bonkers on battery usage. My 2015 MotoXP USA did the same thing but mellowed out within a few days. It also helps having Greenify and putting into hibernate when you go to bed and not running shitloads of notifications or apps. I'm fully happy with the battery usage on this phone and usually only need to trickle charge it via usb-pc during the day between turbo charges in my car (running nav) or elsewhere. I use it for Pandora/Spotify and GPS heavy Golfing apps for 5+ hours on Saturdays and it will only drop to about 85%.....so great for me.

When I wake up, I plug it into the quick charger, and get ready for work.

Not because I'm afraid of eating the battery, I'm just usually too tired to bother with plugging it in, and it will still be pretty near where it was on charge last night.

Doze has been pretty good in Marshmallow for me, and I don't do any battery life janitoring.

I've never even heard or known of anyone ( in real life ) who doesn't leave their phone plugged in at night, and have been doing so since my first cell phone 15 years ago or whatever. Not plugging your phone it at night for fear the battery will die, which is contrary to ( anecdotally ) 99% of cell phone owners, is one of the most goony things I have ever seen on these forums. Plug your phone it at night, it takes literally 2 seconds. Be a normal.
