I really do like Orange. But just like Weeds, the writing of show gets preachy with its political views and it's handled so ham-handedly. I'm on the left side too but geez shut up. I've been watching Oz for the first time up to the third season recently and I approve of all the dick.

it's really obvious the creator wants it to be like a david simon joint and be all "how it REALLY is for the folks round the way" but it forgoes any chance at real characterization for contrived plots or unfunny jokes. I mean I dunno netflix's policy on stuff but if you cut out most of the swearing and the boob shots it could be a cable show easily. it squanders its chance to be subversive and not only does it fail to do that it actually manages to reinforce the very status quo it means to demolish lol which is too bad because the setting is pretty original and has a lot of potential, I'd say something like 'at least it's not a show about a family, group of friends, or a workplace' but network tv is so terrible and irrelevant it's not even worth adding to any conversation about TV anymore

Yeah I mean for the first season I was like ok this is a little bit weak and the characters and conflicts are really simplistic but everything else is good so ok and then the second season happened and I was just like this is just all the political parts of 24 now, that's all it turned into everything involving THE DEEP WEB was so stupid who would let that get in
