Oh poop I bought the last-before-smart-TV:s top-of-the-line Sony because the panel is drat good but since it's been over five years already I hope it's just going to last. The scaling on this one is loving great. Any "smart" feature is just going to be obsolete in a year or two I mean gently caress I've got Play Station's up the butt.

If the answer is yes, then I think that's wrong. If the TVs built-in launcher for HBO GO displays an ad I don't care but if the volume control does I do. If the TV displays ads randomly while I watch cable TV then it's going straight back to where I bought it.

I have a Samsung tv and I use the built in YouTube because it can actually stream at 4K plus it's nice to be able to use the normal remote I know I should disable the tv's wifi and just use my chromecast but I guess I am just a dumb normie that doesn't want to have to deal with ever more CJ'ing poo poo if I can avoid it Linguica fucked around with this message at 05:33 on Feb 9, 2017 |

OH WAIT I just remembered the overriding reason why I didn't just use my chromecast: I have a soundbar and the setup util on the tv to use my tv remote to change the soundbar volume literally crashes / resets itself if I try to set up more than two inputs to use the soundbar

Those notes on ads are loving useless, though; I looked up my tv (a LG) and they've rated it a 0 because it has "ads" exclusively in the video/music/whatever store app that I've only ever even opened once to see what it was when i bought the drat thing. My parent's old Panasonic plasma, though, got a software update that turned on banner ads in the loving volume indicator.
