I don't know if it bothers me more or less that this is on official signage. So either it was broken long enough that they were able to go to the printers and get a sign fully designed and printed (specifically for the bear enclosure), or they just have signs like this ready to go because glass cracking is a common enough occurrence that it makes sense to have signs like this on hand.

They should really have a second pane, even a thinner one, on the outside to at least give people peace of mind.

You could just get a food processor? Or do you like the certain frisson of danger in make breadcrumbs?

Ehh, a zoo probably has an in-house media department that can whip up a sign like that pretty quickly. Certainly a lot faster than a custom-build replacement glass window.

That guy was actually right about the glass and it did not break when he threw himself against it.

The entire pane popped out of the frame instead.

I don't get why people doubt the shattered glass. It is intended to crack. That's not a lie. And it is still save.

Not to take away from your valid point, but that demonstration was to prove the safety of this bridge:

quote:

In August 2016, the world’s highest and longest glass walkway opened to great fanfare, linking two cliffs in central Hunan province in China’s spectacular Zhangjiajie mountains – the inspiration for the Hollywood film Avatar. But the vast glass structure, which stretches 430m long and is made of 99 panels of glass, was open for just 13 days before being shut for an “urgent upgrade” after it could not handle the weight of all the visitors. The bridge had been built to hold 8,000 visitors a day, but demand exceeded that tenfold.

It followed a huge publicity campaign to demonstrate the safety of the glass bridge, which included people being encouraged to try and smash the bridge’s panels with a sledgehammer, and another stunt where a car was driven across the Zhangjiajie bridge.

That said, this video is the greatest crime ever committed against African Americans.

I kinda want to watch the start of the video to see the blades, but I don't want to see what happens later on. Probably going to avoid clicking anyway, though.

I split wood for fun (the old-fashioned way), so I love videos like this. If (when?) I have a reason to do more high-volume splitting, I'll probably look into something more automated. The second one in the first video though, holy poo poo - there is NO NEED for the blade to be travelling that fast. :psyduck:

Speaking of higher volume splitting, this thing is just a thing to behold:

What you should do is build one out of spare parts without spending any money on it whatsoever, then record everything and post it here
