it is time. i am currently eating my chickencheese, as this thread has inspired me to do something with my life for once and for that, i thank you goons. this is delicious. i'm sorry i didn't post in here to commit myself to this earlier but i went from inspiration to completion in abt an hour enough talk! let's.... write a post. mise en place~ boneless skinless chicken thigh - bolillo roll - 2 eggs - couple oz of grated pepperjack chs ginger, idk 1/8 tsp maybe? if that? a little grated ginger goes a long way, esp when it's somewhere it doesn't belong clove garlic, minced - green bell pepper, diced - serrano pepper, sliced - shallot, halved and sliced 1/2 tsp soy sauce - 1/4 tsp chili oil - 2 TB olive oil - soem salt and pepper to taste (i didn't measure bc i trust yr taste) someone else just used the oven so it's the perfect warmth for giving a crisp finish to the roll while you do everything else again sorry i didn't check the oven temp if i'd guess it was 200ish and slowly cooling for appx 20 mins prepare them aromatics it's probably obvious by now that this is scaled down bc this was dinner for one. more on that later. oil the loving pan, then put the chicken on it season before you put it on with a lil salt n pepper. i didn't really have to do much to the thigh to make it lay more or less flat but idk if i could be bothered i could have pounded it out i guess prepare some eggs my ratio is generally 1/2 TB olive oil 1/4 tsp soy sauce (instead of salt) and 1/8 tsp chili oil per egg with a bunch of fresh ground pepper. i use this ratio for scrambled as well! maybe you will too? who knows?!!? check yr chicken you don't NEEEEEED to take it to 160 bc yr not done having it in a hot pan yet but you SHOULD temp the thiccest part of the thigh. i'm gna let this go a bit longer. set chicken aside to rest, add some (idk like 1/2 TB?) of olive oil and the veg https://i.imgur.com/DlFgnxE.mp4 the goal is to coat the veg so flip it around. it's fun, right? hell idk now that the veg has a decent color to it, let's push em to one side and drop in some more olive oil and quick fry the ginger and garlic this is a trick my chef mentor showed me that has never led me wrong. this way, the delicate garlic and ginger won't lose their fresh taste! probably! put the chicken back in and toss it some more! https://i.imgur.com/BB7uTH1.mp4 at this point yr whole kitchen will smell amazing if a touch spicy and now... wait... shvps what the gently caress are you doing-- THAT'S RIGHT IT'S AN OMELET SANDWICH. i have never attempted this technique in my life and i think this photo is when i realized as much. bc this is a chickencheese, let's add some cheese! pls don't judge my light touch with the chs; i'm lactose intolerant and know my limits then, slightly botch the turn before nailing the flip https://i.imgur.com/sgb2czj.mp4 never forget that you are a giant dork and cooking should be fun realize at this point that there is no way that thing's gna fit on yr roll in hindsight i could have scaled this down by an egg, but that's ok! first times don't always go perfectly and that's rad and a part of a life well-lived some creative slicing later and you have a photo that looked much better on yr phone chickencheese on bread with a side of chickencheese top with a local hot sauce (crazy gringa jalapeno) and consume posting pals, this has been... chickencheese from the womb to the tomb. ok thanks for reading

I think it should read along the lines of "CHICKENCHEESE" then "WORLD TOUR 2020". That said, I totally want one if someone else steps up to the plate.

The Fozzie bear classic Waka Waka Waka Bok-Bok Classic chickencheese mis But what was that stuff in that plastic tub? Some magical poo poo called soujuk seasoning from my local middle eastern grocery. Apparently it is Turkish and idk what the hell is in it but it makes everything delicious. Throw some of that poo poo and some salt on that bok-bok and let it chill (cuz I joined this party in byob where we chill) Now do something EXTREMELY UNCHILL Get your wok screamin fuckin hot. ($15 from walmart-best wok ever) Why? Because I don't have a flat top but a wok does a pretty good job as a flat top despite not being at all flat, or even a top. Whatever. Get it smokin hot and throw those pepps and un-yuns in there Agitate your veg until it looks like this Okay look this is all great but WHERE IS THE CHICKEN AND THE CHEESE?!?!?! Throw that bok-bok in the wok-wok. Name your chickencheese wokka wokka bok-bok Put those lovely brown vegetable back in there so they can make friends. Still no CHeeese? Oh there it is. We made the transfer to a non-stick skillet because I didn't feel like cleaning burned cheese out of my wok. Overall A+ would chickencheese again. And actually I did already eat the leftovers and am ABOUT TO CHICKENCHEESE AGAIN

I brought leftover chicken cheese from my endeavors earlier in this thread… …until this adorable rear end in a top hat jumped up to my desk & grabbed it. Luckily he just got the top 1/2 of a bun but his owner wasn't pleased with his shenanigans. What was left of my chickencheese still tasted good, though. Alright, time for my FIRST EVER CHICKENCHEESE Introducing: The chicken! The cheese! And the rest! Get that chicken cooking, roughly untill it's... ...cooked. Deposit that away someplace safe... ...and it's veggie time! Re-add the chicken once your veggies are cooked to your liking, realise you probably should have used more chicken. Also, wasn't there something else? Oh yeah. Eventually you get a vaguely homogenous food pile that doesnt look visually appealing but who cares it's a meal for one. Butter your roll, toast it on a frying pan... And then you plate up. Voila, chickencheese numero uno. This was really good! My only real regret is that I am like, completely horrible at making food actually look half decent in a photo. I have leftovers which ill prob have tomorrow and I'll definitely cook this again, except like, better.

Well, when I originally planned to do the chickencheese thing, I got sick right afterwards and put it off. But a couple nights ago, I finally got around to doing it. I don't have the sheer cooking skill of the GWS crew, so it's time to channel that D&D spirit instead and make my chickencheese with all the delicacy and care of a well-crafted effortpost. Only the finest raw ingredients, prepared with the most delicate skill and care! First things first, throw some frozen fries in the oven. Now throw everything else on the stove, the chicken in a grill pan. It wouldn't be chickencheese without cheese, so get some out! With the fries done, put in some bread to toast in the still-hot oven. By now, the peppers are done, but there was a lot of chicken so it took several pan-loads to get through it all. Voila! Now let's make up some sandwiches, put some cheese on them, and toss them in the oven for a short time to melt the cheese. The left sandwich has cheddar cheese, the right one has smoked gouda. Looking pretty decent! But now that I think of it, it's going to be more difficult than I thought to do my special bonus project on these sandwiches. So let's get out a tortilla, put some chicken and some cheese on it, and gently refuse a dog who insistently waits for his share. Toss it in the oven for a bit to melt the cheese... And now at long last...decorate. Why hello there! But it still feels like it's missing something to be a proper tribute to American politics... What could it possibly need? Oh, I know. Let's break out the mustard! Main Paineframe fucked around with this message at 21:23 on Jan 29, 2020 |

I'm not gonna effort post this since I have already chickencheesed and others have already done the following gimmick but... Two chicken patties, one with Colby jack, then other with sharp cheddar. One slice of while wheat toast. Behold, the bonus negative chickencheese! With Sweet Baby Ray's, mayo, and Wickles, which are a brand of sweet and spicy pickle slices. It was decent. The toast in the center started out really pleasantly crispy.

¿Como se dice chickencheese en espanol? ¡Polloqueso! While I love a good classic chickencheese I wanted to go a little more southwest and spicy for my entry so we're gonna make enchiladas Always gotta start with mise en place or I guess in this case configurar according to the quick translation I looked up. I decided to add some roasted red peppers and onion to incorporate some of the classic ingredients I've learned the hard way to always make sure you prep and season before you start cooking otherwise you end up with your kitchen smelling like burning, dice up that onion and season those chicken thighs with some very red and spicy looking chipotle seasoning you got for your birthday Fry up those thighs so they get some nice color and you get some good looking brown stuff on the bottom of the pan Panic and realize you forgot to chop your chipotle pepper in adobo, no burning this time but so much for learning lessons. Notice the seeds I decided not to remove, this will end up being important later Set the chicken aside and add in the onion, scrape up the bits on the bottom and get those onions just translucent and soft Add back the chicken and some leftover salsa you had in the fridge to the pot along with the panic chipotle, that's right we're making salsa chicken first Some of you may have recognized the instapot liner from above, pressure cook your chicken for 30 mins because why slow cook when you've got pressure! While we're getting under pressure lets get our enchilada filling started, we've got a bunch of cheddar cheese, some leftover mozzerella from pizza night, roasted green chilis, and the diced up roasted red peppers. Add in a full can of enchilada sauce, shed a tear because you live on the east coast and have to settle for Old El Paso and not the delicious Hatch sauce you grew up with out west but these are the costs of doing chickencheese right at the buzzer When you instapot starts beeping at you vent the pressure and open, take in the amazing smells that emanate from your salsa chicken Remove chicken and shred, admire how easily it falls apart but also forgot to take a photo. Add chicken to the filling bowl along with the strained out remains of the pressure cooker pot as we don't want too much liquid Now comes the funnest part of enchiladas, assembly! Neat trick to get those tortillas to be pliable is to microwave them with a damp paper towel for a min or two Should have used a way bigger pyrex! Drizzle some more sauce on top of the now assembled enchiladas and top with some extra colby-jack because tres queso is better than dos queso Forget to preheat the oven so do that and wait to hit 350 but also start munching on the leftover enchilada filling. Regret that you have a really low tolerance for spicy and that single chipotle pepper with seeds is making you sweat but goddamn is it tasty. Once the oven is up to temp cover your enchiladas with foil, bake for 20 mins, remove the foil and bake 20 mins more Do the hardest thing you've done all day and wait for them to cool down before plating so you don't burn your mouth like you usually would. I typically don't go for sour cream but I had some around and it helped bring the spice down slightly I'll definitely be making them again but minus the chipotle and with a bigger pan ¡muy deliciosa! I had bigger plans for chickencheesing for Cook or Die, but life got busy and here we are First, forget to take a proper mise shot, and just do it after chopping the veggies. I went with two jalapeños along with a bell pepper and onion. I'd considered, and later regretted, not throwing in an Anaheim or something else in there Next, saute the veggies. While those are going... Cut up the chicken. I’d had originally thought I’d do a huge effort post where I break down a whole chicken and do a koji brine for the thighs, but there’s no more time for that nonsense. Check on the veggies, they got a bit darker than I was going for but they’re still good. Get the veggies out of the pan, get the chicken in there, and add some salt and pepper, with a bit of extra white pepper while we’re at it. While that goes, butter some bread and put it in the broiler. This tends to go from zero to burnt so pay attention. gently caress. I did not pay attention. Anyway, say screw it and try again, this time I didn’t butter it pre toast and got it a nice golden brown When the chicken seems reasonably cooked, add the veggies back in and give them some time to hang out together. Then split into three servings because that felt right Add cheese, and cover Well something came out right Top the toasted bun and enjoy. Considering what a mess things felt like, the chickencheese still turned out pretty tasty. I should have thrown a chipotle or two in there for some extra heat, but there’s always next time. That said, I did make three servings, and was curious, does chickencheese work as a quick work breakfast? Yes, yes it does. It might have been better to skip cheesing the leftover ones and saving that for after toasting the muffin and chickenveg, but breakfast chickencheese on an English muffin with a bit of aardvark sauce was a nice addition to my morning.
