Sing Along posted:if you haven't already can you post like, a guide to what you're doing in GWS? as for home carbonating, you just need a CO2 tank with a regulator and a hose with a ball lock connector and a cheap carbonation cap. i already had this tiny 2.5lbs CO2 tank from the cheap kegerator i bought, but i can only find a single place in chicago that will refill it for me. a bunch of places do exchanges but their smallest tanks are 5lbs (i actually did get a 5# tank from a homebrewers supply store that i now use in my upgraded kegerator). i got the hose and cap on amazon for about 30bux. i got the idea from Liquid Intelligence by Dave Arnold which is a great book that has a bunch of goofy modernist-y cocktail techniques, but which also gets a bit into the details and science of what makes cocktails work my latest recipe ive used for my Raspberry Zing is 1200 mL water 400 mL vodka 150 mL raspberry syrup 150 mL simple syrup 13g citric acid 4g ascorbic acid 3g malic acid heat and mix to dissolve thoroughly, then cool and transfer to 2 liter soda bottle to carbonate at 42psi. you honestly could just use the citric acid (or even just ascorbic acid alone and up the quantity a bit). it comes out to about 8.5% abv so i like to put it into 12oz beer bottles. you can get a bottle capper for ~$20 and its amazing how impressed people are by a sealed bottle, like it's some magical thing you need industrial machinery for  the only image i have of bottling stuff is actually when i tried making some Argentinian Soda Jerk, one of the easier Aviary cocktail book recipes (coke, fernet, port, amaro abano, lime juice, cinnamon syrup)

having a cocktail i made up 1 1/2 oz gin 3/4 oz rhubarb liqueur (Giffard) 1/2 oz lemon juice 1/4 oz simple syrup havent come up with a name yet. its just the most obvious way to use this rhubarb liqueur that came to mind. this is the original formulation i came up with; ive tried playing around with it a little but i like this best. that always happens with my drinks--either i make a good one the first time that needs no tinkering, or i make something mediocre that i cant tinker with enough to make it good
