I wish she would work more on her clinch striking and grappling instead of just relying on having the ability to power through it.

You should watch these Early Prelims because Buffer says "Singapore, Singapore" in the WE ARE LIVE thing but then shortens it in the later versions. (also the fights were good)

You should watch Early Prelims in general because UFC intentionally does this poo poo all the time and have for a while, here's an early prelim (not even of a PPV):

I was relieved she was awarded the win; round rounds 4 and 5 were clear, and in round two Santos took her down and basically held on for dear life while Big Tina was at least trying to attack from the bottom. If the person on the bottom is taking no damage and forcing the person on the top to defend, I'm pretty comfortable with that being scored for the bottom player.

I've been indoctrinated to the 'if you have top position you are winning regardless of what you do with it' and bullet wasn't really doing anything to suggest she should be winning on the feet until the 4th. It was a fitching and I hope Santos disappears back to her home planet so regular Shevchenko brutality can resume.

:siren: B-League Preview! :siren:

PFL 4 - Friday, June 17

Main Card - 10PM ET, ESPN

Lightweight - “Cassius” Clay Collard vs Alex Martinez

Collard is a boxing crossover superstar. He won his last PFL bout, a decision over noted crime guy, Jeremy Stephens.

Martinez is a grappler, and he also won his PFL 2022 #1 bout, a decision over Stevie Ray.

Collard and Martinez are both on the edge of making or not making the playoffs. A win will help, but a stoppage will help even more.

Light Heavyweight - Antonio Carlos “Cara de Sapato” Junior vs Bruce “Soldado de Cristo” Souto

Shoeface is a BJJ phenom with a heart of gold and a face only a cobbler could love. He’s 1-0 in PFL 2022, netting 6 points with a 29-second D’arce choke.

Souto got punched out in the 2nd round at PFL 2022 #1.

If Souto wants to advance to the playoffs, not only does he need a win, he needs a stoppage, preferably in the 1st round. But c’mon, that’s not happening. Shoe Face is going to take Souto down and lock something up with shocking quickness. All Hail Shoe Face.

Lightweight - Raush “Cavalo de Guerra” Manfio vs Olivier “The Canadian Gangster” Aubin-Mercier

Manfio either gets KOs or decisions. He got a KO last time, netting himself 4 points for the 3rd round stoppage.

OAM is a competent grappler. He won his PFL 2022 debut with a split decision win over Natan Schulte.

Aubin-Mercier needs a stoppage. He’s on the outside looking in for the playoff picture.

Lightweight - Jeremy “Lil Heathen” Stephens vs Myles “Magic” Price

Stephens is a knockout artist who still hasn’t notched a stoppage win since 2018. He lost at PFL 2022 #1 by decision.

Price won the Showtime Pettis sweepstakes, so he fought at PFL 2022 #3, losing by first round triangle choke.

Both guys are in a hole, points-wise Price has yet to be stopped by strikes, so I’m expecting Stephens to punch him for 15 minutes and get a decision.

Prelims - 7PM ET, EPSN+

Light Heavyweight - Omari “Wolverine” Akhmedov vs Teodoras Aukstuolis

Akhmedov flatlined Viktor Pesta at PFL #1, giving him 6 big points.

Teddy lost a decision to Marthin Hamlet last time out.

Omari gonna spark Aukstuolis and get more points.

Lightweight - Natan “Russo” Schulte vs Marcin Held

Schulte is a pretty solid grappler, and the former 2019 PFL champ. He lost a decision to OAM back in April.

Held is also a good grappler, with an emphasis on leglocks. He’s making his 2022 season debut.

Held beat Schulte last year by decision. Both men need a quick finish to have hopes of making the playoffs for this year.

Light Heavyweight - Emiliano “He-Man” Sordi vs Delan Monte

Sordi is a finisher, ending 21 of his 23 wins inside the distance. He did get GnP’d by Cory Hendricks in April.

Monte is also a finisher, with all 8 of his victories coming before the final buzzer. He got submitted by Shoe Face.

We’ve got another pair of dudes desperate for a quick finish to try and squeak into the playoffs.

Light Heavyweight - Rob “Razor” Wilkinson vs Viktor Pesta

Wilkinson won his PFL #1 fight with punches over Bruce Souto in the 2nd round.

Pesta was denied the chance to hit The Crone Under the Root against Omari Akhmedov. Here’s hoping he can try it this time.

Wilkinson has 5 points, Pesta has 0. Pretty simple math, Pesta needs a 1st round finish to move past Rob in the standings.

Light Heavyweight - Marthin Hamlet vs Josh Silveira

Hamlet took a decision win at PFL 1, putting him in 5th place.

Silveira is 8-0, with 5 submissions and 2 TKO wins. He last fought at PFL Challenger Series 1, submitting Mohammed Juma in the 3rd round back in February. He was scheduled to face Emiliano Sordi at PFL 2022 #1, but withdrew from that bout.

Silveira is in a tough spot. He’s coming in late, with 0 points. Also, where the heck is Cory Hendricks? He’s not on this card, and doesn’t have anything scheduled per Tapology. Dude’s got 5 points. Anyway, tough spot for Josh.

Lightweight - Bruno “Robusto” Miranda vs “Nasty” Nate Jennerman

Miranda is 14-3, with 9 TKO wins. He trains out of Thailand, so I’m going out on a limb and guessing he’s a Muay Thai-style striker. He’s riding a 5-fight win streak (4 TKOs, 1 decision), and notched a 3rd-round TKO win at PFL Challenger Series 5 in March to punch his ticket.

Jennerman is 15-5 with 11 submissions. He’s on a 2-fight, 2 submission win streak.

Both these guys are making their PFL debuts, but I don’t think they’re actually in the tournament. Either way, we’ve got a classic striker versus grappler matchup, and that’s usually pretty fun.

Z-League Round-Up
UFC Fight Pass Shows, Week of 6/17

CES MMA 69 - Friday 8 PM ET
Twin River Casino, Lincoln, RI
Ashiek Ajim (5-1) vs. Azjavkhlan Baatar (8-6) (Bantam Title)

- For some reason UFC Fight Pass is airing shows from Rhode Island and Massachusetts at the same time on Friday night. Per Google Maps they are about 70 miles away from each other. Neither of the two shows is particularly good.
- The CES Bantamweight Title is on the line as Ashiek Ajim, who has fought all of his fights in CES MMA and is coming off of a 30-second TKO win, takes on Azjavkhlan Baatar. Bataar has been more tested in his career and it shows on his record, as he’s fought in Mongolia, Japan, and New England. He’s on a four-fight winning streak that includes a 2.5 year gap.
- UFC vet “Slow” Mike Rodriguez, on a 3-fight skid takes on Jeremy “The BAMF” May in the co-main event. May is 0-3 since 2015, and his last fight was a loss 3 years ago to “The Vanilla Gorilla” Chase Sherman.

Combat FC 1 - Friday 9 PM ET
The Shriners Auditorium, Wilmington, MA
Rico DiSciullo (10-2) vs. Gareth de la Cruz (7-3) (140)
Tim Caron (10-5) vs. Salaiman Ahmadyar (7-2) (185)

- As I mentioned, right down the road is the debut of the creatively-named “Combat FC.”
- The main event features 2018 Contender Series loser Rico DiSciullo continuing his comeback after a 4 year gap on his resume, fighting in the main event after a 59-second RNC victory on St. Patrick’s Day. His opponent is Gareth “G” de la Cruz, has a nice looking record where almost all of his fights were in Gladiator Challenge from 2012 to 2018. He lost twice in a row and appears to be now taking a payday and a plane ticket to lose in the main event of “Combat FC” in the stacked… 140 lb. weight class.
- Your co-main is Tim “The Bear” Caron, riding a 3-fight skid, taking on Salaiman Ahmadyar, who hasn’t fought in over two years and hasn’t won since 2019.
- Deep on the undercard, Bellator vet Pat "The Gorilla Ninja" Casey (8-5) is facing 4-17 Stephen Stengel, who hasn't won since 2013 and lost to Marcus Davis in November in Davis's first fight since 2014.
- Perhaps it would be smarter to wait to see if Combat FC 2 has a better show lined up.

Lux Fight League 023 - Friday 10 PM ET
Centro Expositor, Puebla, P.U.
Marco Beltran (16-7) vs. Rodolfo Rubio Perez (18-11-1) (Bantam Title)
Allan Zuñiga (13-4) vs. Francesco Patron Manzo (8-0) (145)

- The title of this show is “Asuntos por Resolver” which means “Unresolved Issues.”
- The main event, for the Lux Bantamweight title, has Marco “Psycho” Beltran looking to avenge a 2013 loss to Rodolfo Rubio “Fito” Perez. Both fighters are UFC veterans and both were on TUF Latin America Season 1 as well. Beltran was 3-3 in the UFC after TUF, while Perez lost his first fight and got cut. Beltran has his first fight in a year after a fight with Francesco Patron Manzo fell through twice, and his last two wins were both submission victories over David Mendoza. Perez won in February in Lux, after not fighting for four years.
- Allan “Tigre” Zuñiga ends up being the one that has to fight Francesco Patron “R5” Manzo, at 145 instead of Manzo getting the Bantamweight title shot. Don’t quite understand the booking here, Zuñiga has lost 4 in a row and has not won since 2017. He is here to do a job for the undefeated Manzo, who is from Puebla and I suppose is getting a spot to get a showcase win in his hometown instead of a hard fight.
- Nothing particularly notable below this on the card, though I do see a Mexican woman that is suspiciously named “Linda Martell” making her professional debut.

JCK MMA: 2022 Week 7 - Saturday 7 AM ET
Haikou, Hainan, China
Haojie Li (24-4-1) vs. Lile Du (23-9) (135)

- Whoa, a fight actually worth noting from JCK!
- Haojie “蜜獾 / Honey Badger” Li is 12-0, 1 NC since 2020, and he had his first pro fights in ONE back in 2016, going 2-1 before fighting in Chinese promotions. Most of his recent fights have been in JCK’s “Night Cage Series” against opponents with a variety of records. His opponent, Lile “铁骑 / Iron Cavalry” Du has had all of his fights in China, and his most recent fight was a loss to… Haojie Lie back in December, via unanimous decision. Chinese matchmaking is pretty suspect, I see that Li had a split decision win over a 4-4 guy his last time out and his 12-0 run includes wins over a 2-5, an 0-1, and a 1-1. Du’s fight at a record of 20-8 was a win over a guy making his pro debut, then he fought a 1-2 guy in his next fight.

TUF 30 Episode 7 “Crush Your Dreams” 6/14
Chandler Cole vs. Jordan Heiderman

- Recap declares Miller/Guthrie fight “the fight of the season so far.” Episode starts with them posing together and being happy they had a good fight.
- Julianna says Jordan is a quiet hard worker. His strategy is defensive wrestling to do striking.
- Chandler Cole is a corrections officer at a level 5 supermax in Virginia. His story is that he used to be poor and he wants to show that you can come from nothing and get to the top. Cole is from Coeburn, VA, way out past VT over near the border with Kentucky. He’s 27 years old. He is the wrestling coach at the local high school he went to. His grandmother raised him and he has a three year old daughter. He trains at Wise County Combat Club.
- Chandler had to specifically ask Amanda to not do ground training in the lead-up to the fight so he wouldn’t be risking further damaging his torn ligament. He mentions that she is always going all out at all times. They have a cutaway to Amanda saying “you wanted this opportunity.”
- Jordan Heiderman trades out of The Bomb Squad in Dodge, NE, in a building that used to be an old cheese factory, which is not a real team and he only trains every other week. He works as a welder. From Norfolk, NE, 30 years old. Jordan Heiderman had the Dynamic Fastener rear end sponsorship in his LFA fights.
- Fitness Chandler shows up, which is Chandler doing an exercise guru bit. Zac Pauga makes a reference to judging a book by its cover in reference to Chandler’s body fat.

Seventh fight: Heavyweights - Chandler Cole (27, Coeburn, VA, 8-3, 264.5) vs. Jordan Heiderman (30, Norfolk, NE, 5-0, 247)
Round 1: Chandler throws low kicks to start, and even tries a high kick though he’s 5’10” and Jordan is 6’2”. Nothing that significant in the first half of the round, Jordan is not throwing much and Chandler seems to be able to get inside. With about a minute left, Chandler hit a spinning wheelkick that landed on Jordan’s face. Jordan stumbled and Chandler tried to latch on an arm-in guillotine like an idiot. When Jordan got up he decided to start throwing a lot of one-twos but didn’t really land. Chandler’s round.
- Heiderman’s corner told him round one could have been 10-8 so he needs to finish in round 2.
Round 2: Cole still successful with kicks early in the round. Nunes in his corner seems to be directing him to touch and not load up, limit risks. Jordan lands a bit in the middle of the round but he is rarely throwing more than two at a time before backing out for 10+ seconds. Peña in his corner is yelling “again” to get him to throw more often. Cole seemed tired and did not land much in the back half of the round so I could see Jordan getting it.
- Judge says it requires a third round.
Round 3 Sudden Victory: They’re both slinging early in round 3. It seems like Chandler gets a knockdown but Jordan gets up and lands a nice right, then Cole shoots and Jordan sits down on him and Cole is in a turtle position not moving much. Jordan has enough energy to throw 30 lovely hammerfists that don’t land clean, and the referee stops it.
- Amanda claims he won rounds 1-2 and it was bullshit it even went to a third round.
TKO due to strikes at 1:14 of round 3. Winner, Jordan Heiderman. Peña 5-2 Nunes
- Both Dana and Amanda commented on how they couldn’t believe Chandler didn’t finish after the wheelkick in round 1. Chandler was crying a lot in the locker room. Dana said he thought that Chandler should have won the decision after round 2. Nobody is mentioning that in a normal actual MMA fight it would have just been an uncontroversial round 3 finish.

Next week, Flyweights: Brogan Walker vs. Hannah Guy
