Ya i figure the path of least effort for them is to just let it break and then not fix it, and the 11th was their next big update.

From the discussion I've seen, I'd guess it will be in the next Infinity lockbox rerun like the last Terran Discovery ship. And if they're posting a teaser blog today, that could be... soon.

Eh, I still think it's going to be summer event. I always found it really weird that with how hard CBS has ordered Cryptic to shill Discovery, the Crossfield's only been available via lockbox and thus out of reach of most players.

I mean, I'd never use the Crossfield if I had it because it's an ugly piece of poo poo, but I think it's an odd marketing decision.

So I have to ask, is it worth saving the EC to buy a Starship Upgrade Requisition to say, upgrade my Tactical Escort Retrofit or Exploration Cruiser Retrofit if I already have T6 ships but well, want to fly an actual federation ship? Or would I be better served spending that EC buying the Fleet Ship Modules I need over time, and won't get through rep for quite a while?

For that matter, is there such a thing as a double rep weekend or it is just the same long slog to T6 Rep?

Mondian

If a single upgrade req is something you have to scrimp and save for, do not blow your ec on a trash tier ship like that. Find one of the many affordable options that aren't awful instead

I've got the money right now at least (Starship Upgrades are about 20mil, I have 55mil) and I already have some good ships. Just trying to decide if its worth upgrading one of the ones I have, or continuing to save for a Fleet ship while still enjoying my Orb Weaver and d'Kora.

If you had the T6 refit and just had to spend a module for the fleet version, yes. Getting the fleet T5U defiant with the gently caress you tac ensign and paying about half your banked ec for it seems like a bad decision.

No the only T6 ship I have is the T'Pau, if I wanted a fleet ship I need the 5 modules. But I get that upgrading the Tac Escort to T5U is not worth it.

Startrekker/SOB ran the numbers in a recent stream. Using keys, a promo ship costs $295. In promo boxes, it’s $173.

It really seems like a bad deal for a knockoff version of a hero ship. That’s character bound.

Just smash random queues. Sometimes you'll hit a random one that awards romulan marks plus you'll always get a user's-choice box of marks for every random you complete.

you get an additional R&D box when opening an R&D box that comes from the c-store, exchange or as a reward for finishing a queue, nothing to lose sleep over

also the new queue is basically Dranuur Gauntlet: Mirror version, the lowest of efforts

Yeah it totally doesn't matter what ship type you fly with which captain class. Just pick whatever looks cool or seems like fun. There's actually some good arguments to be made for flying differing ship types really, like a sciboat with a tac captain to boost the various exotic damage abilities or an engineering captain in a raider so it doesn't explode when looked at funny.

I made an alien tactical captain, but I didn't pick the traits at character selection? Did they change how that works? I could have sworn aliens used to be able to pick their traits.

I also have auto attack set to the default enable only never cancel or whatever but it doesn't seem to auto fire? On the ground at least, I haven't been in space combat yet.

When were Romulans added? I don't remember playing when they were added but I have one on my account. I guess it's possible that I did.

Everyone can now freely retool their traits in the traits tab of the personal window. Aliens just get an extra slot and access to a wider array of traits.

So long ago I don't know anymore. Back when content was good anyway. It falls off hard after the Dyson Sphere stuff.

Frankly I'm amazed this game still gets even a trickle of new/returning players.

Speaking of Reddit, a German language player has found a fun little fuckup - looks like the next lockbox will be an update of the Tholian Recluse.

I’ve been doing some carrier tests recently and assuming Cryptic don’t gently caress up the pet AI or the seating in the T6 recluse Superior Area Denial, Coordinated Assault, Dominion Coordination and Scramble Fighters on a carrier running two wings of Mesh Weavers should be great a really expensive way to do 75% of the damage you can do in a Vengeance for 900% of the cost.

Nah, roms are still the best choice for a main. Romulan operative bridge officers (although this matters less if you have access to cardies) and access to romulan, allied faction, and dominion boats. It's just that they start at level 1 so it's a lot more of an investment to get them usable, so if you're just doing an alt or a mule then it's jemhaddy all the way yeah.
