Cervixalot posted:Sounds delicious. Good idea. Backwoods is the single best beer Founders makes. Yes, better than KBS and even CBS. At least in my jerkface opinion. Opened a Flat 12 Half Cycle IPA, which was an instant drain pour. Undercarbonated and just kind of generally unpleasant to drink. Followed it up with their amber, which wasn't anything great but it was solid. Last up is the Central Waters BA Scotch Ale which is really drat good though it's no Backwoods.

It's an excellent beer. However people on BA would have you believe it is garbage because it sits on shelves and you don't need to wait in a line to get it. Take that same exact beer and make it "hard to get" and people will go crazy for it.

So in 2011 I cracked a can of 2009 Ten Fidy and it happened to be on the date the beer turned two. After a long day, it felt like tonight was a good night to pop an Abyss 2012. Checked the side of the bottle, curious to see when Deschutes said it's best after. I jumped the gun by two hours, apparently. Uncanny. For what it's worth, it's very very solid at the moment but I'm going to put another 9 months on the rest before trying another from last year.

Not sure about bottle sharing inside Alesmith, but we could pull up a bumper and drink out of the back of someones car, tailgate style! Although, that's probably frowned upon. I'll be down there earlier in the day as well so I can be there at 4 PM no problem. Just in case we do find a spot, I'll bring the beers talked about earlier in a cooler because I plan to stop by Alpine before heading to Alesmith anyways.

As much as I'm super excited about BCBS releases this year, I don't think i'm going to bother waiting in line anywhere. I'm staying the gently caress away from Binnys in Lincoln Park as I know it will be a madhouse the week following release. Plenty of sleeper spots around Chicago where the variants (at least BCBBW, BCBCS and BCBS) should be easily scored with much less hassle.
