Where does Subaru ownership fall on that scale? Like, the non-sport segment of sensible wagons and suvs. Amount of flannel and golden retrievers not withstanding.

When I was working at a gas station had a Subaru pull up with a rainbow sticker and the flannel wearing owner tried to sell me WNBA tickets. They were perfectly nice but felt way too on the nose.

I drive a Honda CR-V and I've been told its a mom car but whatever, gets good mileage, rarely has any maintenance issues and can fit a ton of poo poo inside of it considering its not a large SUV. I also wear a lot of flannels... I've never been a car person, I just want my car to be capable of a handful of things and not cost a lot in upkeep.

I’ve only driven Subarus and I can confirm that women want to be with me and men want to be me. Everywhere I go, heads turn at the practicality, elegance and versatility of my Subaru Outback Sport, particularly when I’ve got one of my bikes on the hitch rack, my dog drooling out of the window, and the wind gently ruffling the collar of my flannel.

In space gay communist naratopia everyones daily driver is a Prius unless you can prove you use that “extra storage” more than...I don’t know, once a month? I should say weekly for daily drivers but I want to make a point that most of the fun cars, brodozesers, and mom suvs are just commuters and are playing dress up. (I’d drive a wrx tomorrow if money was no object but then I’d need to line up for the guillotine)

I had a CVT in a civic hybrid a decade ago and it was just awful all around. Never failed me, but wasn't a comfortable, smooth shifter when it moved ranges. Fucker'd clunk hard on take off unless I drove like a literal old lady. I've driven stick most of my life, I see no point in going back to an auto/cvt again unless I lose my left foot.

I like the 5 speed auto on the OB I have. Just a little mushy, but responds to my foot going down quite well even without downshifting. Also works nice for engine braking. I don't really know how to drive stick well at all, so caveat to that. But for general commuting and the very light trails it's more than fine.
