Her designs have been used for a lot of the mass-available DSA graphics used at actions across the country

Pittsburgh DSA has been helping with a series of major protests over the murder of Antwon Rose (13 year old black kid who was shot in the back and killed by the cops), and today the DA finally brought homicide charges against the officer who killed him. It's just a first step and there are still a hundred ways for them to get him out of it, but it's a step.

Still can't believe there are people who don't believe in electoralism or whatever you call actually getting behind policies and candidates. CNN and MSNBC are debating the merits of democratic socialism, and they would have just continued to ignore it forever without actual wins.

Crossposting from the Trump Thread. I'm a 32 year old married white male nurse and I live in Oklahoma, one of the reddest states in the union. I've always been left-leaning ever since my political awakening as a teenager living through the horrible Bush presidency and watching the Adam Curtis documentaries The Power of Nightmares and Century of the Self, culminating in my becoming a socialist as an adult. I've kept up with reading this thread as much as possible since Trump's inauguration, both of which have fully radicalized my ideals. I would like to credit Koalas March in particular for opening my mind to the concepts of white fragility and particularly white privilege, which are not things that most anyone who live in this racist shithole, even the left-leaning, can even begin to conceptualize. I've always been simultaneously discouraged and disgusted by the overwhelming amount of power conservative republicans have in this state, and the ineffectual impotent resistance of the few cowardly centrist democrats who actually exist in our government. I've never really known what I could do to advocate and fight for what I believe in. Today I joined the DSA.

If you joined the DSA, and there's no chapter near you, start one, it's not hard, you just have to round up 5 people to start an Organizing committee and then bam, you only have 1/5th of the responsibility.

Although be aware that there's a moratorium on incorporating new chapters right now so you won't get to be an "official" chapter for a while. Don't let that discourage you though, national provides next to no material support to chapters so the difference between being an organizing committee and an officially chartered chapter is kind of minimal in practical terms. You won't get a roster of people who have already signed up in your area, but if you are proactive about publicizing your meetings that shouldn't matter.
