Since my Jaybird X2 are unresponsive at the moment, I resorted to wearing my Earbuds to the gym today. Both sides fell out of my ear with very minimal movement (I was doing chin-ups so my head is basically stationary). I threw them right in the garbage. I am honestly loving dumbfounded that Apple would bother trying to talk up the fit of these pieces of poo poo (remember when the redesign announcement was made a few years ago?) and that they would model the AirPods after them. It's such offensively bad design, like the Magic Mouse that charges from the bottom, or the Apple Pencil that charges by plugging it "eraser-end" into an iPad. Someone get me a loving Pixel before I (further) lose my poo poo.

Let me know when someone designs an earbud that fits everyone's ears. My jaybirds sit unused because they don't stay in for poo poo.

Saw that an apple store had 7+ in stock and reserved one, when I arrived I was told they were only for iPhone upgrade plan customers, but the lady was nice enough to override it and sell me a phone anyway. It's kinda lovely that they're sitting on stock like that, but I guess I'd have a different feeling if I was an iPhone upgrade plan customer.

The buds never worked for me, but I've never found in-ear headphones that fit better than Apple EarPods. I've probably bought a dozen pairs over the years (cheap surplus stock online, not full price). I guess I'm lucky I have odd shaped ears.

They don't fall out of my ears, but they're not comfortable to wear for a long period of time. I was initially high on the wireless EarPods, but man. Thinking about it, it's $150 for... wireless versions of the standard, not great sounding Apple pack-in buds. While I know you can't understate the convenience, that's a lot to ask for what's ultimately subpar fit (for me) and subpar audio quality.

I absolutely loathed my JayBird X1s at first until I tried different tips (foam) and wore them in the "x-fit" configuration. They didn't move at all and were absolutely perfect. ...Until they stopped working (sweat? sitting on them in my back pocket?) but then I got sent a free replacement pair of X2. Those didn't move at all and were absolutely perfect. ...Until those also stopped working (same reasons?) and now their customer support has been virtually unresponsive or just completely half-assed. I might still buy a pair of X3 because I think the product works flawlessly when it does actually work at all. I'll stop sitting on these, I promise.

Earpods are definitely comfortable but they fly out of your ears for no good reason at all. If you enjoy sitting perfectly still and never turn your head they're great!

I'm waiting for the Beats X myself. All the advantages of the EarPods (Lightning charging, W1 connection) in normal earbuds for normal people's ears.

I find Earpods massively uncomfortable and I'm always amazed people find shoving hard plastic in their ears the least bit enjoyable.

Eh, they just barely fit in my ears and push themselves out even if I'm not moving. I've never been able to use them. I've got one of the original Apple bluetooth earpieces that came out alongside the first iPhone (or maybe the 3G?), and I've never been able to wear it at all. It has a solid earpiece similar to the old earbuds but a little bigger, and it just does not fit in my ear. The only kind of earbuds I can wear (aside from the ones that came with my original Game Boy) are the kind with a rubber or foam rounded cone-like piece. One of these days I'll get a decent pair of over the ear headphones just so I don't have to deal with it, I only use them when I'm mowing the lawn anyway.

I have some Jaybird X2s and bought them for slightly less than the upcoming airpods price. Compared to the regular Apple EarPods the sound quality is so so and the max volume leaves a bit to be desired along with the power controls and standard Bluetooth pairing annoyances. If the airpods match the sound quality and volume level of the EarPods then I would happily buy them since they would also have improved ease of charging and better pairing. For my ears the EarPods fit great so it seems like a win.

Just an FYI for anyone with an 6+ with touch disease, just tried this and surprisingly it worked. I haven't had it running long enough to see if it'll overheat or eventually stop working, but it cost me nothing and took about 30 minutes since I've taken these things apart a bunch of times. If the tape catches fire and causes my balls to get exploded I'll let you guys know.

suddenlyissoon posted:Anyone else having this issue? From my experience, there is no single fix for these kinds of issues. Bluetooth as a platform and set of frequencies has some fundamental flaws regarding interference and pairing, and it affects some users while others have flawless performance. I've given up and have resigned to living with BT issues until we have a better wireless technology, hopefully in the next few years. In some cases because audio interference bothers me so much, I've stopped using wireless. One example is for work web conferences, I go with a cheap wired headset. I do enjoy the Bose QC35s for music and I am one of the lucky ones with pretty good performance pairing with my iPhone and laptop. I've noticed that, but it's only when in very specific areas, so I can only assume it's just due to interference.

Has anyone had problems with texting non-iphone users? My messages look like they've sent and I recieve messages fine, but any SMS sent never gets to the other person's phone. MMS (pictures/group text) has no problems. I've done a lot of things to try to fix this: reboot phone, turn off iMessage, reset carrier settings, delete old texts, change iMessage settings, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting. I haven't had a chance to backup and fully reset the phone (likely will tonight), I thought I'd ask here if anyone had any ideas i could try before that. I think this started when I updated to ios 10, but i don't have a good feel for the timeframe. I only found out last week when my friend asked me why I was ignoring his texts recently.

When I ordered mine they said Backbeat Fit 2. That was about 1.5 years ago. They seem to have some more colors on Amazon now. I don't know what the person meant about them not going in your ears. Mine definitely go in my ears and I don't hear the outside world if my volume isn't set to low. Maybe we are talking about 2 different products, maybe we have different sized/shaped ears. I know the Backbeats are a one size fit (or doesn't fit) all type of deal.

Just bought an iPhone 7 and I've been told my voice sounds distant and with an echo. I'm on Verizon and I think I remember reading there was some issue regarding this. Anyone else experience this? Going to google some more but I guess I need to head to Verizon. If it helps I bought the sim free version at the Apple Store. Just popped my old SIM card in and that's it. Update: I just tried the voice memo app and my voice is crystal clear. Must be something with Verizon then if it only happens during calls?
