Cassia owns. Either go blind build or spear depending on how much AA you are going to see. Especially blind if there is an enemy Diablo/Muradin, you can just shut them down for ages.

Only dive in with E if you're 1000% sure it will get a kill.

I prefer a blind build, but I only pick her to counter heavy AA teams. It feels so good watching a Thrall run in, realize he's not getting his windfury hits, then try to run away only to be murdered by a lightning javelin. :allears:

I've seen zero people argue the opposite of this, except maybe one post here.

The streamers on Twitch who aren't there to just smile and suck off Blizzard hate OW in the game, and everyone I play with hates them too.

They'll never get removed though. Despite being hyper mobile and ruining the game.

Tracer and Junkrat are frustrating but not huge problems. Genji is the really corrosive one who can easily pull off incredibly out of position plays even at fairly low skill levels, and just gets absurd at high ones. Nobody thinks Ana, Dva, or Zarya are problems at all. Hanzo is such a high skill floor that he’s statistically the worst hero in the game, which is its own problem but not the kind you’re talking about.

HA! HA! NICE! WHAT A TOOL!
Tracer is absolutely a problem. Position well against a tracer, hm wait guess she can always blink and bomb you if she wants better hope your reaction speed is up to par. Fortunately she's weak enough now that I hope she's not on my team (rather than being relieved that she is).

Genji and Hanzo are big problems and the devs are I guess buying more time to deal with it with a third ban?

D Va and Zarya dont really matter, D Va's at least funny. Lucio and Junkrat can be enormously frustrating but they're not really on my poo poo list.

Ana is actually a very positive addition to the game, like a successfully designed liutenant morales.

Of course when people complain about overwatch heroes they are very obviously talking about Hanzo, Genji, Tracer, maybe junkrat, maybe lucio, and there's not much reason to have this discussion every time it comes up (often). (Overwatch is still a bad game I expect to be more dead than hots in two years)

I'm not a betting man, but I really don't see OW tanking by 2020. Maybe 2021. It will definitely probably decline significantly by then though, but I doubt HotS will surpass it, unless HotS somehow grows in the same time, which, while nice, I don't see happening.

We're all going to experience changes in our life but only the best of us will qualify for front row seats.

Just making Overwatch free-to-play would extend its lease on life by another year, although they would need to make restricted accounts at that point. For example: disable competitive unless they’ve spend cash on the game, introduce a “welcome” lootbox bundle for new players that essentially serves as a way to upgrade for five-ten bucks.

People really like the characters, and I think that can be enough to outlast other multiplayer shooters where your character is a blank slate that serves as a dress-up doll.

Level 1: Thunderstroke
Level 4: Ring of the Leech for general use, Plate of the Whale if they have a rapid AA character like Tracer, Tassadar, or Lucio (but not Tychus because he WILL kill you)
Level 7: War Traveler
Level 10: Your Pick
Level 13: Thundergod's Vigor
Level 16: Pierce
Level 20: Your Pick

Cassia is arguably one of the most meta-effective Assassins in the game with this build and playing it is (relatively) easy:
  • Correct use of Lighting Fury is essential. Poke down your enemies so you can swoop in with Fend to secure kills. Blinding Light should only be used defensively (or to get sustain from Ring of the Leech).
  • Thunderstroke makes Lightning Fury print money. The damage is obviously attractive, but the double-charge is a secret tool that will help us later.
  • Ring of the Leech gives Cassia nearly unrivaled teamfight sustain if used properly. Fully healing off of a Blinding Light + Fend combo in the middle of a major fight is like doing drugs.
  • Plate of the Whale is the better option once completed because it makes Cassia less susceptible to burst damage, but completing it is usually a pain in the rear end unless the enemy team has rapid attackers.
  • War Traveler makes it harder to predict where Cassia will be due to constantly altering her Movement Speed. It also allows you to escape most ganks by simply walking away - the Movement Speed bonus is only lost if you cast something or if you stop moving, so you can usually just leave when someone shows up.
  • I prefer Ball Lightning because it helps me surprise-win duels and it's good for splitting up the enemy team, but Valkyrie is good for getting picks.
  • Thundergod's Vigor means more Lightning Fury, which is good.
  • I cannot emphasize how powerful Pierce is. The split on Lightning Fury happens with every hero hit, meaning you can deal as much as ten times the listed damage of Lightning Fury (possibly more if you're under ideal circumstances). On top of that, you can double-tap Lightning Fury with a completed Thunderstroke (or even triple-tap with the cooldown reductions afforded by Thundergod's Vigor).
  • All of Cassia's Level 20 options are good.

Poke lots, don't move in predictable patterns, swoop in with Fend once you get someone low. Chromie's a pain in the rear end to deal with, but Cassia is definitely not without tools to handle it.

As much as there's some community issues, shooters tend to attract those types of folks, and the gameplay mechanics are still pretty drat solid.

"Lengthy lifetime" alone would be massive achievement for most studios.

Oh no, neither Overwatch (or HoTS) is gonna die anytime soon, but I do honestly think Overwatchs playerbase is going be a third of what it was last year by 2019. I dunno, it just has too many odd design choices going against it all the time and it's gonna drive a lot of people off.

Best option you have is turning on the Attack Move Target Point toggle that makes attack-move attack targets relevant to where you click instead of closest target. I have a buddy who replaced the standard move click with Attack Move Target Point and swears by it, but he's also kinda crazy so take that with a grain of salt.

I'd like to add Fend can also be used with Ball Lightning for a solo lane gank combo.
Lighting Fury > Blinding Light > Ball Lightning > Fend (to close the distance for more BL bounces).
