It's a little touch that I like. I don't think that's right. It would make perfect sense since she can use magic, but she looks pretty normal to me. If there's a difference in her artstyle it's a lot more subtle than it was for Horse. Also yeah, Centaurworld has no right being as good as it was.

But 10:03 remaining on the last episode you can see she's shaded differently. Ryder has heavier colors whereas the witch is flat. She also has pupils, her details are slightly more angular and her lines are softer. She's clearly effected by Centaurworld's effect.

On the Cataur episode of Centaurworld: Does anyone else think that the stage transforming during "Who is She?" was Horse tapping into her centaurworld magic in a big way? The cats would have had no way of knowing to prepare that kind of thing in advance given SHE didn't even know what was going to happen. Or at least maybe the mechanisms already existed for prior acts and she just made them activate.

Spoilers for Centaurworld:

# ? Aug 1, 2021 19:45 |

One thing that I thought Centaurworld did well was balancing the stupid jokes with actual interesting ideas, like in episode 2 there a some bathroom humour that starts out poorly with Glendale stepping in poop for no reason (but the magic bathroom bush was an amusing idea that took it a step further) but the episode is overall saved by the other moments like Horse's fear of forgetting Rider's face and the cool setpiece of the Taurnado Similarly, Turpleton's talking farts would not have been funny if they weren't translated after episode 3. THAT elevated the joke.

Cindy's definitely the leader of the trio, but she's just as deranged and likely to cause mayhem as Yogi.

Huh just noticed there is no Hokey Wolf. Guess they felt he was redundant as his personality was recycled into Top Cat.

Cindy's definitely the leader of the trio, but she's just as deranged and likely to cause mayhem as Yogi. Yogi is basically Doctor Homer Simpson while Cindy is pretty close to early Princess Bubblegum. If there's one criticism that I have right now for the current released batch of episodes, it's either that there's not quite enough Yogi, Cindy and Boo Boo or that there's disproportionately too much of Auggie Doggy and Doggie Daddy.

Xelkelvos posted:Yogi is basically Doctor Homer Simpson while Cindy is pretty close to early Princess Bubblegum. Only two episodes in and I think I have to agree regarding Doggie Daddy, they're leaning a bit too hard on how over protective he is of his daughter when it's not really all that funny, the bits where he's instead overly proud of his daughter like in the first episode regarding her terrible earworm of a song works much better

Doggie Daddy's overprotective dad schtick works for me mostly because if Augie's reaction to it, or rather her lack thereof. Other shows would probably have Augie be either combative towards her overbearing father or be sheltered to the point of dysfunction, but the show itself goes in a different direction by having her really love and care for her dad but also be completely amenable to being independent as well. She just happily seems to go with the flow. So it's an interesting dynamic to me that DD is hyper-protective of Augie while at the same time being a completely and total wreck who falls to pieces when she's not around, while she pretty much just casually adapts to whatever situation she's thrust into.

Jellystone is Chowder as hell and I love it. The Top Cat episodes were the best. Really dig the new takes on the characters Cindy and Top Cat's gang are the obvious one, but Jabberjaw and Loopy are real great too. Hope season 2 has a Johnny and Haji focused episode. Also it's been long enough it's time for Scrappy Doo's redemption.

Especially as it'd potentially coincide with the Velma series that's being produced. Otoh, Birdman is free and I'd hope they pull a low-key reference to Attorney At Law. The well is deep for obscure HB properties to riff on or through without even having to pull on the other well known bits that they haven't done already. Heck, there's still one other mystery solving team with a dog that they haven't referenced yet that isn't Scooby-Doo. (yes, there are three HB mystery solving teams with a dog)

I was surprisingly enjoying "Jellystone!" And yeah, as an animation nerd I loved spotting all the obscure Hanna-Barbera characters they included. How many people here have watched "Heyyy! Wammawink is a delight and the show's great. At first it seems like it's gonna squander the cool, weird premise on fart jokes, but after two or three episodes it quickly escalates to doing the cool, weird premise justice along with fart jokes.
