Hey, I know the guy who made this. That headlight bucket is out of an early 60s Chevy step van, and is zip tied in place. The wood is from a pile of scrap that was hanging out next to the storage shed he and I share. I've driven that car, but it was before those particular shenanigans.

I'm not up to date on the hella flush and stretched whatever scene, but isn't the tire supposed to actually stretch across the whole rim?

Or :thejoke:?

Pretty sure. They are like that on both sides in the rear, too. The front tires are better, but not by a lot. Everything about the guy and his car is terrible car stuff.

You're killing the environment. QQ.

I just can't understand the point of putting tires that are a good 3" too small for a wheel on a car. There's a couple idiots in older Acura's that have super stretched tires on their cars that are literally a nats rear end off the ground. I played that game when I was in high school in a 68 bug that could push a coke can down the street on its side. After a while you just want a car that you can blow through a yellow light without worrying about losing parts of your car.

I'm almost afraid to lose the 1-2" of clearance when I get the R. It's kind of nice to have a car that only scrapes the little plastic wind deflectors when hitting the stupid 3" deep drainage ditches they love to put in the middle of the roads out here.

I like the colour but do these people investigate what big tires do for the turning radius before shopping?

I can't really hate this, I like the color and I like the look of the black accents on the color, and it's just so silly looking!

But yeah I'd love to watch that thing try to turn.

Bought a wrecked car last fall (smashed in the rear corner while parked) with plans to salvavge the interior, sell off the good body panels and put the engine and trans in another project. Checked it out a week beforehand to make sure it was running, driving and stopping, then winged it 350 miles from Iowa to Illinois. Starting to strip it down this spring and I notice this from the oversized rimmmmmz that had been on...

Rubbing on the inner fender liner? It happens. Rubbing on the soft brake line? No Bueno. If the previous owner hadn't gotten smashed in the back, I doubt it would have taken long before it would go into the back of somebody else.

They recently completed 'construction' on one of the busiest highways in my city, it took 1.5 years.

Before we had the old Humber Hump, which was one particularly nasty bump in the middle of a 4 lane highway, the 'hump' was so severe that it became a tourist attraction, there are pictures floating around of cars and trucks gaining as much as 5 inches of air coming off the hump. Needless to say it wasn't all that much fun for the daily commuter.

Now that the construction is done I thought "Great, smooth ride" ... what was once 1 big-rear end bump is now 3 equally annoying, the last of them being bad enough to kick in my traction control each and every time. Mind you this is a highway where 100 km/h is the average everyday speed.

Point of this story is my previous car was lowered as well, tastefully, but still low enough that I would scrape on speed bumps and inclines if I didn't watch the angle. Also managed to drag a coffee cup a few hundred meters once which was pretty funny. I'm pretty sure my car would have blown out the whole suspension if it had to go over this new travesty of road construction

From my limited understanding of how tires and rims work, nothing but the grace of god.

One good smack and the bead comes off, with it all the air inside

Apparently that one is kinda 'faked' with an extra bit if metal welded on to the outside of the real wheel rim to get it looking like that.

You could also plumb the spark plug hole of that de-activated cylinder back into the intake with a check valve for a two fold power gain from the decreased resistance and air pump effect of the compression stroke.
